Mining in Terraria is very satisfying and many precious ores await along with some secrets. I have come across a lot of Life Crystals, those big hearts that permanently add one more heart to your maximum health.
Digging for more resources such as precious ores is very addictive too. And once in a while, there will be a fairy that will help you to uncover some of the secrets underground. I was guided by one to a house. It had a painting of a guy, not sure where the guy was... there were some flying bugs in this part and I had a door in my inventory too, so I put down the door to be safe from those bugs.
My eyes were on the treasure chest that was placed inside the house. It had some unique items that I got for the first time. There was a 'Dynamite' which should break most tiles. I had seen some unbreakable titles in one of the deadly biomes, maybe I just need more dynamite to break it open.
I was digging close to that house and a popup said, my Guide is back. Yohoo! I wanted him to come back as I was struggling to see what I could do with all the items I had gathered. I am not sure what caused him to come back to the house. Ah! maybe the chair that I put inside the house before going mining?
Regardless, I was happy to see him back so I used my 'Magic Mirror' to transport him back to the spawn.
He was happy to get a place for himself. He seemed happy to me. That's when I spent a lot of time learning all the recipes and seeing what each item could be crafted into. There are a lot of things in this game, way more than I can handle...lol
While there was still daylight, I went outside to explore more of the surface world. I was spending way more time in the ground than above the surface...lol
There is this big tree that I always wondered how tall it was and decided to go up to see if there were some special chests or items on the top.
So, I used my wood to make a pillar and see how high it went but it wasn't as high as I was expecting and there were no hidden treasures or loot.
It was getting darker now but I still decided to go further east, reached the desert biome and zombies started to spawn so I teleported back to the spawn...lol (I am still afraid of these buggers)
Nighttime is a good time to collect those fallen stars. I decided to go into one of the caves and found two Life Crystals very quickly!
I killed a pink slime in this cave and completed another achievement.
The cave opened up in a mineshaft. I was here in this mineshaft before but not in this part. There was some shiny gold ore which I mined by blasting it with bombs. Mining with bombs is quite fun and quick!
I opened up my map and saw a new NPC that has come to live in the house that I repaired yesterday! His name is "Issac the Merchant". I couldn't wait to see what he had to offer so I went straight to him through the network of caves.
I was hoping to get some nice items from this merchant, but most of them were absolutely trash. Why would I buy torches and bronze tools...lol
One of the interesting items I saw was a bug net that I can use to catch critters. I wanted to buy it but I didn't have much cash...have been dying a lot of times and not recollecting all the dropped coins. Well, some of them are in very dangerous places and I don't want to go back and die again...lol
This was a lot of disappointment, maybe he will have much better items after I advance more in the game.
I left him at his house and went deeper into the caves. Having a glowstick is such a handy thing you can throw it in the caves to get an idea of how deep it goes or what are the dangers lurking in the dark.
I kept finding more and more crystal hearts and now I was at my second row of heart. I think you start with 5 or 6 and now look at me, I have consumed so many of them. I hope there is no negative effect of doing that.
I went deeper and suddenly the aesthetics changed, it was like I moved to a new underground biome. The music changed and I could hear loud monster noise. I threw some glowsticks to test out what I have down there but while I was doing that I accidentally switched to my 'Magic Mirror' and used it. I was transported back to the surface. xD
Maybe it was for the best as I was surely going to die there...lol
I had died in a lot of bad ways, ranging from getting killed by a dandelion to getting crushed by a boulder and blown up by troll chests. Plus all the times I was killed by those ugly monsters and eyes.
But I am having a lot of fun and learning a lot about the game. Now that my guide is back home I can see a lot of new recipes and stuff I can make. I can summon some monsters too. I wonder how that will go.
I am liking it so far, can't wait to explore more of the world around me and dig even deeper!!
Thanks for reading...
Until next time...
