Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
Dave is managing a Sushi restaurant at night and diving in the day to catch fish for the restaurant. Cobra, Dave's friend, managed to convince Dave to do this as Dave can't resist good sushi. Not certainly if it is made by the hands of an amazing cook like Banjo.
As our Dave prepares to Dive into the Deep Blue, he was greeted by a strange man who introduces himself as Dr Bacon, an archaeologist studying the Sea People Civilization.
A Sea People Civilization? Dave was surprised to hear it and almost didn't believe it. Dr. Bacon told him about a strange artifact that his assistant found which is dated around 1500 years ago and there was no civilization at that time here. Also, the fact that there are some legends of sea people here.
But now he wants us to look for some more evidence for this civilization and Cobra agrees. Cobra just wants more people to come to his Sushi restaurant and if the evidence of this civilization got out, many visitors would come to this place and the business would boom. At least, this is what he thinks. But Dr. Bacon gave us a free suit upgrade for our trouble which can take us to deeper water.
This is the only free upgrade in the iDiver app. Going upto 80 meters will be good for now as the artefact was found around this depth. It can also enhance other pieces of my equipment like the cargo box which is going to be my priority and the air tank so I can have longer dives.
This is the actual start of the first Chapter, everything before this was kind of a prologue and served as a tutorial, I guess.
It didn't take me too long to find that artefact. It showed a sign over it so you can't miss it if you are close. After finding, it I caught some fish to fill up my cargo box.
Did I tell you that there is a giant squid that just stared at me. It scared the shit out of Dave too.
That's the first quest, a very straight forward fetch the item quest. He gave me good rewards for this simple task. $300, Olive oil and Turmeric too?
We went back to the Sushi restaurant to learn some more things. Apparently, there is a social media app named Cooksta to share food pictures and all. It looks like an Instagram for foodies and such businesses.
So, there is another app installation done. This was easy too. The cash I got from doing the task for Dr Bacon was used to upgrade Air Tank and Cargo Box to level 2 each.
I played with some interior and decoration too. There are a lot of things you can change here but they all seems to be for cosmetic only and give no benefits other than looking good. You can change tables and chairs along with Speakers, pictures, signs, lights etc.
The next time I went diving, I saw a dolphin and it was behaving as if it wanted us to follow it. That's what Dave did and found out that a pink dolphin is trapped in a net and we set it free.
They were happy to be united again and left us a gift too. A Pearl! Looks expensive and must be worth a lot of money.
I caught a big Dusky Grouper fish. I got the upgraded harpoon tip and it still took a few tries. The next thing I should upgrade is my harpoon.
You can see the summary of these dives in a neat log. This dive was just five and a half minutes long. They are certainly getting longer and will continue to get lengthier as I upgrade more of my gear.
Back in the Sushi restaurant, we were visited by a lady named Yoshie. She seemed to know the chef Bancho and they have a disagreement on a dish called 'Whole-Rosted Shark Head'. Bancho thinks people should judge the dish after eating it and not just by the looks.
Well, looks like we need to catch that a shark. Sometimes, special customers will come in and demand special dish and these dishes are a lot more expensive and will be great for business but equally challenging to collect.
My profit crossed $100 today. There are a limited number of hours we are open in the evening. We got 5 likes on our Cooksta social media account too. And for the first time, I got 5 stars on my score sheet. I think it was because of how efficient I was compared to the last couple of days.
I am getting the hang of it now. There are always a lot of NPCs that were are getting introduced to and if each of them gave us some kind of quest, it is going to be a lot soon. I don't a game with too many side quests but if they can be done along with the main storyline mission, then I am all for them.
Dr Bacon came again after analysing that artefact we got him the last time. He says it was made out of a strange metal and he made a radar to detect it underwater. We have to now go and locate the source of that strange metal.
I checked the Cooksta app to see what people were saying about the Sushi place. Most of them like the place but not our Dave. Poor Dave is even getting trolled online.
