Welcome to another episode of Dave the Diver.
DAVE THE DIVER is a casual, single-player adventure RPG featuring deep-sea exploration and fishing during the day and sushi restaurant management at night. Join Dave and his quirky friends as they seek to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Blue Hole. Source - Steam
The last episode was a couple of weeks ago, and I took a little break from this game. It is a chill game, and I don't feel any pressure to complete it just yet, so I am not playing it much often. Our Sushi business is growing strong, and we made some good returns in the past couple of days.
The active story mission was to retrieve an item from the depths of the ocean for our Gun supplier, Duff. He also gave us a gas cutter to open the door of the sunken ship.
It was very easy to use, I just had to keep my mouse in the circle and depending on how well you followed it, they gave you a score. I got Perfect on this try. I was prompted with a message that entering this door would start an event that led to the ship above. But I had my bag full of fish already so I went in.
It leads us into an underwater cave. We saw the package that we had come for but there was a small issue. Not small, but a gigantic issue. A Giant Squid was guarding it. Dave tried to sneak in but it woke up and we had to fight against it.
This was a boss fight and I had to use my guns and harpoon. Fortunately, the game gives you some extra bullets and oxygen canister in this fight otherwise it would be quite tough. Its moves weren't too quick either so Dave managed to fend it off. Its eye was the weak spot and shooting it enough times made it leave us. Maybe it will come back again for another fight?
I thought the boss fights would be over for some time now but nope... the very next dive, we encountered John Watson underwater and he accused us again of polluting the ocean and then he started attacking us.
This was not as challenging as the Squid one but still interesting. He uses a grenade launcher to attack us and pollute the ocean even more than us with his big explosions.
He doesn't have much health and attacking him a few times will end this fight. After that, we are free to catch the fish. I found another blueprint for the Red Sniper Rifle.
Back on the boat, Sato came to meet us after learning about our new shiny Boss card. It seems that once you defeat these bosses you unlock these boss cards in the app.
The next day, I was prepared to go deeper. This time I had to find the source of the signal that was coming from deep. This part was much darker and had more hostile fish.
I even found an Emethyst Ore vein which can only be mined with Pickaxes. Thankfully, they were placed in the nearby chests for us to equip and mine some shiny ores.
A colony of strange pink worms called the Tube worms was blocking our path. Touching them hurts us but they temporarily retract in their holes when you shine a light on them or hit them. The light strategy was a bit safer so I used it to go deeper. There were deadly sharks here and I was taking a huge risk. This place also had fewer escape pods and oxygen refill things.
And I was right... I took too much risk and ran out of Oxygen while trying to escape a shark. Losing all the items from this run is heartbreaking. But I got my lesson. Don't mess with the deep sea creatures!
Bancho called us when we were on the Boat, he said there was a strange customer at the sushi bar who needed my help.
But before dealing with the customer I gave some training to our waiter and he learned to serve drinks too. Exactly what I wanted, manually serving drinks was consuming a lot of my time during the open hours of the bar. Now, it will be better.
This strange customer was a former diver who couldn't dive anymore but wanted to get the taste of Moray Eel Curry and requested us to get Moray Eel for him. He suggested us to go fishing for them at night. Until now, we could just go fishing only during the day and from now on, once a day we can go diving at night too but that will make our Sushi bar open time shorter and will likely decrease our profits for that day. But if I could get rare fish from night diving which can be made into expensive dishes then it might help us make even more money per day.
We didn't have expensive dishes for today so our profit was a bit less from the last day and our expenses rose a bit because we had to pay extra for the more skilled staff member.
