Hello everyone,
In the last post, we were sailing to the area that summer marked, but along the way, we got very distracted but which lead to upgrading the ship, meeting new characters, and acquiring some new materials. now it's time to check out what is so special about this place. so without further to do, let's just jump right into it.
It seems we'll meet Francis quite a lot, I just met him a few Islands before. here he is, drifting with his precious stuff and going around meeting people. anyway, I had made some coffee and squid skewers which fetch a good price if I sold them to Francis, so I just sold them real quick to make some bucks. while starting out, there was no way to trade or make money in this game but now since all those progress and after upgrading the ship, we can trade and sell them to Francis now. and he actually gives a decent price. the area Summer said is nearing now, but then the ship crashed into something.
At first, the ship seems like it crashed on some rocks, but then Summer and Stella approached to the front of the ship., where a dragon was waiting for them. It was quite a surprise since this game doesn't focus on action and is very relaxing. but this was unexpected, Summer seems calm about it, after some conversation between Stella and Summer, it is clear that the dragon is an old acquaintance of Summer. she said that the dragon followed her from the old world to this world, that's why she has been feeling its presence and since she was approaching it on the sea, she started to feel its presence even more and started to have nightmares about it.
at first, she didn't understand what was going on but now the dragon is here, and the dragon doesn't seem hostile about us, on the contrary, it was waiting for us to finish the conversation and let us do something about it. summer noticed that the dragon was not what it was before, it looked pale and then she notices the rocks on its head. even though the dragon has done so much harm to Summer and other living beings, Summer thought that every creature deserves love and care and she asked Stella if she could destroy the stone above its head, it seems as if the stone has corrupted and was absorbing the dragon's life force. without any hesitation, Stella jumped right on its head to help it remove or destroy the stone.
the atmosphere was very dark and even the ship and summer were not visible even though they both were just meters away from Stella, the only thing that could be visible in this darkness was the corruption spilling rocks on the dragon's head. there is this mechanic to break ore such as copper, lime, slate, etc. The mechanic is that with the everlight you can use it to collect materials. fo the ores you have to hold the X button while standing near it. the everlight will take the form a a small hammer, then the more you hold the more it will gain weight and mass, if you hold it for a long time, this will cause it to gain more mass and weight than required and Stella could drop it since she can't handle that kind of weight. so the zone has to touch that sweet spot moments before Stella could drop the axe down which doesn't cost much except for the animation and the time. but there is a nice design that lets you know when to leave the button and hit that sweet spot and cause the most damage possible. that is you have to wait for this ting sound while holding the button. the sound is easy to miss, but after some time it is not so hard. I really like this design decision which makes sense once you play it. anyway, on the first hit, the dragon submerged its head into the sea. but its body was still above the surface of the sea, and there were lots of such rocks on its body.
As the dragon kept moving, I then jumped on its body to destroy other stones that are harming it, the stones on the body were not as much as hard as the stone on its head. it took like five hits to break the stone on its head and there were more stones on its body so it took some time to finally destroy all of the stones on its body. the final blow was very epic as it was sent to the depths of the sea and it just disappeared for a minute before emerging from the sea. I think this dragon will help us later on, Summer was grateful to Stella since Summer is the one who suggested coming here and helping the dragon clear all those stones on its body, Destroying those stones yielded some nice number of quartz which will be useful for ship upgrades. then after some thankful conversation from summer, the dragon them submerged into the sea without doing anything.
It was wild, after giving some food to the members, I remembered the message on the bottle. the bottle that we fished while sailing after Albert's shipyard. That message had a brochure of a tourist place called gurenu fields. the brochure mentioned that this place is well known for its rice paddy fields and oak forest and lots of tourists find this place very relaxing. so the next place was fixed on the map and the sail has been set. while traveling it started raining and a thunderstorm approached, since I bought all the empty bottles Francis old man had, I wanted to collect as much lightning as possible. and I did capture like twenty of lightning on the bottles at the end. then we finally reached the gurenu fields. but then I remembered we collected lots of quartz from destroying the stones on the dragon. I just checked up to see if there is an upgrade on the ship I can do, and there was a new building available which was asked by Gwen, she asked if she could have a loom where the fibers can be made into threads. and since we are already growing linen plants in fields, we can use them to make threads. so I built the loom. I checked up to see how it worked and the mechanic is similar to that of mining ore. you have to hold down the X button and when the arrow reached the glowing part, you have to let go of it. it's kind of easy to make.
I hope you liked the post. Thank you for sticking around till the end, we'll explore the tourist island in the next post. if you have any opinion on this post please let me know in the comments.
Thank you! and Have a nice day!
Game On!
