After Soccer video games, my second favorite video games are Baseball games. I love this sport, even more when I can play it on my smartphone or on a video game console. I had a long time without trying any Baseball videogame, this because I had disconnected from sports videogames. I was almost always bored with the ones I installed on my smartphone, so I gave up and focused on other genres such as adventure and platformers.
However, I recently found a quite interesting video game that, besides being entertaining, has helped me forget that I have a terrible cold, hahaha. In this post you'll learn more about Baseball Star, and if it's worth downloading... Although I think I've already clued you in. Lol.

Después de los videojuegos de Soccer, mis segundos favoritos son los de Baseball. Me encanta este deporte, aún más cuando puedo jugarlo en mi smartphone o en una videoconsola. Tenía mucho tiempo sin probar algún videojuego de Baseball, esto porque me había desconectado de los videojuegos deportivos. Casi siempre me aburrían los que instalaba en mi smartphone, así que desistí y me enfoqué en otros géneros como la aventura y las plataformas.No obstante, hace poco hallé un videojuego bastante interesante que, además de ser entretenido, me ha ayudado a olvidar que tengo un resfriado terrible, jajaja. Baseball Star is a simple video game: once you download it, you must select your team's team. In my specific case, I chose one called "leones", since my favorite baseball team here in Venezuela are the "leones del caracas". It is obvious that I always choose the winning side. After completing a short tutorial, you will be able to dive into a game. It's not complicated at all, unless you want a more immersive game.
Baseball Star is not as immersive, but it offers a very good experience if you are a lover of the sport. Each player has a card on which their skills are specified. You can choose the game mode you want and even enter tournaments. Your role is divided into two: batter and pitcher. The rest of the actions are performed by the players themselves.

Baseball Star es un videojuego sencillo: una vez que lo descargues, debes seleccionar la escudería de tu equipo. En mi caso específico, elegí uno que lleva el nombre de "leones", ya que mi equipo favorito de baseball acá en Venezuela son los "leones del caracas". Es obvio que siempre elijo el bando ganador. Después de completar un pequeño tutorial, podrás sumergirte en una partida. No es nada complicado, salvo a que desees un juego más inmersivo.Baseball Star no es tan inmersivo, pero ofrece una experiencia muy buena si eres un amante de este deporte. Cada jugador tiene una tarjeta en la que se especifican sus habilidades. Puedes elegir el modo de partida que quieres y hasta incluso entrar en torneos. Tu rol se divide en dos: bateador y pícher. El resto de acciones la desempeñan los jugadores por sí solos.

The first game I played was against the bears. According to legends, a bear can't beat a lion, so I knew my victory was assured (XD). The first at bat belonged to the opposing team. It was my turn to be "Pitcher", and to be honest, I knew how to hit the strikes, even though I was trying the game for the first time. You just have to know how to aim and pray for some luck. The shots don't always go your way, but that's part of the dynamic of this almost automated game.
For my turn at bat to come, I had to make the three outs for my opponent. Sometimes they managed to hit the ball and dominate the bases, however, they could not get more because I sentenced them to strikeouts very quickly. The bears of bad luck, as I decided to call them, could not score points.
It's just that no one can against a lion 😎.

La primera partida que jugué fue contra los osos. Según cuentan las leyendas, un oso no puede ganarle a un león, así que ya sabía yo que mi victoria estaba asegurada (XD). El primer turno al bate fue del equipo rival. Me tocó ser "Pitcher", y para ser sincero, supe como acertar los "strikes", aunque estaba probando el juego por primera vez. Solo hay que saber apuntar y rogar por algo de suerte. Los tiros no siempre salen como quieres, pero es parte de la dinámica de este juego casi automátizado.Para que mi turno al bate llegara, tenía yo que hacerle los tres "outs" al rival. En ocasiones lograban batear la pelota y dominar las bases, no obstante, no podían lograr más porque los sentenciaba muy rápido a los strikeout. Los osos de la mala suerte, como dicidí llamarlos, no pudieron anotar puntos.
Es que nadie puede contra un león 😎.

When it was my turn to bat, things were not so easy. I think I am better at being a pitcher than a batter, because the opposing team was scoring outs very quickly. Throughout the game I tried to score, however, there were few occasions when I was able to hit the ball with the bat. I paid more attention to the movement of the ball... my swings were very fast, so I would get ahead of the pitcher's motion and end up missing.
At some point in the game I learned how to handle the swings and as soon as that, I was able to cover the bases with two players. It was the perfect time to score a home run and hit the ball out of the ballpark. It was three points for my team. The lions ate fresh bear, for triple, of course.

Cuando me tocó batear, las cosas no fueron tan sencillas. Creo que soy mejor siendo Pitcher que bateador, porque el equipo rival anotaba los outs muy rápido. A lo largo de la partida intenté hacer una anotación, sin embargo, fueron escasas las ocasiones en las que pude golpear la pelota con el bate. Puse más atención en el movimiento de la pelota... mis swings eran muy rápidos, por lo que me adelantaba al movimiento de pitcher y terminaba fallando.En algún punto de la partida aprendí a manejar los Swings y, tan pronto como eso, pude abarcar las bases con dos jugadores. Fue el momento perfecto para anotar un Home Rum y sacar la pelota del estadio. Fueron tres puntos para mi equipo. Los leones comieron oso fresco, por triplete, desde luego.

Although Baseball Star is a somewhat basic game, I like the way it takes us to enjoy a sport as competitive and popular as Baseball, even though the player's functions within a game are limited to only the basics (batter and pitcher). If you have already played other classic titles of the genre, then you may end up liking this one.
Some games are difficult; it all depends on your agility as a player and the game mode you select. The best of all is that you have a nice time, without so much stress... especially without so much stress (XD).

Aunque Baseball Star sea un juego algo básico, me gusta la forma en la que nos lleva a disfrutar de un deporte tan competitivo y popular como el Baseball, a pesar de que las funciones del jugador dentro de una partida se ven limitadas solo a lo más básico (bateador y pitcher). Si ya has jugado otros títulos clásicos del género, entonces puede que este te termine gustando.Algunas partidas son difíciles; todo dependerá de tu agilidad de jugador y la modalidad de juego que selecciones. Lo mejor de todo es que pasas un rato agradable, sin tanto estrés... sobre todo sin tanto estrés. (XD)
