For this week's challenge, we will showcase the 'Ferocity' ruleset, where all units all units have the Fury ability. Units with Fury ability deal 2x the damage to units with Taunt ability. So, think carefully before including a unit with Taunt in your lineup. Let's take a closer look at the card I used to win in this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.
Think carefully before including a unit with Taunt in your lineup as they will take double damage from units with Fury. |
For this battle, here are the specific rulesets and a mana cap to consider:
Rulesets:
Taking Sides: Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.
Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
Ferocity: All Monsters have the Fury ability.
Mana Cap: 15
Active Elements: Earth, Life, Dragon
Strategy: Since this ruleset is quite simple, I just need to make sure that I will not use a monster with Taunt ability. Also, with the limited mana at play, I have to maximize this set up and used a powerful card with Common or Rare rarity.
Summoner: Lobb Lowland
- This summoner gives all enemy monsters with -1 Speed and allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.
1st Position: Mycelic Morphoid
-- This card has the Thorns ability that when hit with a melee attack, does 2 melee damage back to the attacker.
2nd Position: Katrelba Gobson
-- For me, among the common and rare gladiator cards, this one is one of the most powerful because of its Double Strike and Sneak ability together with its good attack power and speed.
3rd Position: Lurking Puffer
-- The purpose of this card is to defend Katrelba Gobson from back line attackers.
The enemy used a level 1 summoner, which is Obsidian and used a combination of melee and magic attack monsters. Hill Giant is a nice tank on low mana battles and my line up might lose on this one.
My Mycelic Morphoid was easily killed however, before moving to first position, my Katrelba Gobson was able to secure a kill and triggered its Bloodlust ability.
Round 2 was a critical round because the enemy still has 2 attackers, Ujurak Mystic and Hill Giant while I only have Katrelba Gobson with 2 remaining HP.
And by the end of round 3, Katrelba Gobson was able to defeat Hill Giant but also received damage from Ujurak Mystic which make its HP down to 1.
The good thing is that Katrelba Gobson's speed is now 6 in Round 4 and was able to attack first and defeated Ujurak Mystic. And that made me the winner of this battle.
