What's up Gamers?!

In this post, I'm going to give quick update to my Let's Play Kerbal Space Program series on YouTube!

The Road So Far

Just a few days ago, I uploaded my very first video to YouTube, which happened to by the first installment of my "Let's Play Kerbal Space Program" series!

I figured that by starting a let's play series as my first videos on YouTube, you would not only be able to see my growth as a content creator, but also within the game itself, since this is my first playthrough!

After a lot of hesitation, and internal debate, I decided to push through my nervousness and finally upload my first video. I also made a post on Hive, just to try to help get my video out there as much as I could. (If I fail as a YouTuber, it won't be for lack of trying!)

(Edited to include link to post)

Anyways, I didn't expect to get many views or subscribers from this video, especially since it's my first upload to YouTube! However, making my Hive post paid off, as one fellow Hive member not only read my post and watched my video, but also became the very first subscriber to my FourTwoZero Creations YouTube Channel!

So really quick I would like to give a shout-out to fellow Hive member @macchiata for subscribing to the channel! I sincerely appreciate and thank you for your support, and I hope that you enjoy the series! (And don't forget to comment on the videos/posts with updates on your own gameplay sessions, since you'll be starting to play along too! 💚)

Why Training?

But, as for the reason behind this post!

Since it became painfully clear to me that I needed a tutorial of some sort to be able to continue in my career mode gameplay within KSP.

I was in such a rush to start the game that I didn't even notice that there was a separate training exercise menu within the game, so once I found it (after exiting to the main menu) I quickly decided to go ahead and attempt to learn a little bit more about the game I had just started to play.

Since this is my very first playthrough, I thought it was only fitting to include these training exercises within my let's play series, because without it, I don't think we would be able to progress very far within the game!

Episode Overview!

So for today's video (linked above), I decided to launch into the Getting Started and Basic Construction Training, which happens to be the very first tutorial in the list!

Even though we got through a beginner rocket build in the first episode, and have already become acquainted with the absolute basics of the Kerbal Space Center, I really didn't want to skip any of the training exercises, and risk losing out on some valuable tips and tricks that might be contained within!

This tutorial, as the title implies, gives you all of the basic knowledge required to start achieving scientific success within your career mode gameplay, and starts out by giving us a basic overview of the buildings contained within our Kerbal Space Center.

Basically, there is just a lot of reading that goes into the Getting Started portion of this Training Exercise, which does give you a lot of information..even if it is just the basics!

During the Basic Construction portion of this Training Exercise, we learned how to choose our rocket parts during building, and how to see more detailed informative about the parts, while learning how to design a beginner "Hopper" style rocket.

We also learned some very valuable tips for when we place parts on our spacecraft, such as how to toggle the symmetry and snapping options, which, for example, would allow us to be able to place 4 stabilizing fins on our rocket at once, and allow them to "snap" into place!

These training exercises already proved to be extremely useful to me as a beginner, but I'm sure they will continue to be of use in the future as we start learning more about the game, and will be a great way to refresh ourselves with some of this more basic knowledge!

Thanks for tuning in, and I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Sort:

This game really reminds me of Satisfactory but lite version of it. Can't wait testing it out this week.

I can't say that I've ever heard of satisfactory, I'll have to look that up and see what it's about!

I hope you enjoyed the video, and I hope you got a few pointers for when you start out! I'd suggest giving those a go at some point, but either way, let me know how it goes and what you end up doing!

I just posted another training exercise walkthrough today, trying to get through some of the basics before jumping back in to the career mode, I got stuck trying to take a crew report in flight, which is what prompted me to go through some of the training exercises to get a feel for what was going on!

I have a few more training walkthroughs to publish that will lead back up to the actual career mode gameplay, but I'll be getting those posted as soon as possible because I'm anxious to jump back in and play! :)
