The journey after S.S.Anne will be the gym battle
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
As Goliath watched the S.S. Anne depart from the harbour on its long cruise he began to wonder, what was the next steps?
Well he clearly had to beat the Vermillion gym leader Surge that will likely, be a tough fight by itself but he might be able to find other trainers, to battle and gain additional experience to be on the safe side.
Cut got taught to Farfetch'd so then one Pokemon was able to be cutting away those small trees, blocking the path and where Goliath had to go to continue his journey.
To the East were some trainers hanging around the tall grass and ready for some battling which is what was needed right now.
One Jr Trainer had a nice level Venonat that was a good fight, for Farfetch'd. The peck was what did the high amount of damage since it was essentially a bird against a bug sort of fight here.
Another had a cubone and rattata to fight against and the water moves were always great against a cubone.
The tougher fight for Dratini would come against an Exeggcute which is always a strong Pokemon and it was a close fight, before the Dratini's wrap finished it off for yet another win.
The last fight in this section and then the rest of the trainers can be left for now, was a gambler sporting a tough Goldeen which had taken out Dratini before almost taking out Venonat.. except it had been healed up to get the win. Out came a Dratini that got hit hard before thunder wave paralysed Venonat, allowing the enemy Dratini the use of wrap to do some damage and got Venonat closer to losing, but it still came out on top and reached level 21!
A quick heal at the poke centre and then Farfetch'd used cut because it was time.. time to face off against the Vermillion gym for the thunderbadge.
Upon entering, Goliath managed to find the first electric lock with a lucky first guess so then he could battle the first trainer, with a Clefairy to start with that hit pretty much almost even to Dratini but had used sing to put it to sleep.
Grimer was brought out and finished Clefairy off with one more hit and gained level twenty six and was becoming a power house of a hitter.
After he then beat Growlithe by using Wartortle's water gun for a quick win, he looked around for the second electric lock and after failing and then trying multiple times, Goliath unlocked the main door to Surge.
Before going up against him though or going to heal.. he went up against this rocker that was using an Eevee at first so the Dratini would have a hard time, a super potion was required this battle but Eevee was defeated.
Then the Tentacool fight wasn't that hard, though it was cool to see one being used before a final Pokemon choice of Cubone were see bubblebeam, end up securing the victory and Goliath was able to heal and prepare to face Surge.
Goliath was about to shine in this fight as he was ready to have the third badge, the thunderbadge, in his hands.
An Eevee was a first up contender and it had some great damage it could deal out to Dratini and was so close to taking it out, but was not fast enough. Sandshrew came out next, not good for Surge since Dratini had bubblebeam and with that, one was all it took so this could lead to the final choice..
Once Dratini's level twenty two had come in, Surge unleashed the mighty Raichu of course!
Jigglypuff was brought out to put Raichu to sleep which enabled switching to Grimer to prepare and assault. The sleep wore off right away though and with its speed raised from X Speed being used, the battle was hot at first.
A paralysed Grimer managed some solid body slams after the thundershocks and it was looking close for this final fight.. but the growl's from Surges Raichu was a bad move since it allowed Grimer the last couple of blows, to put Raichu down and secure the thunderbadge!
With the technical machine for Thunderbolt being handed over as a bonus prize, so it can be taught to a Pokemon, Goliath held his head high as he left the gym and went to heal on up, as he would go East again and look to go through Diglett's tunnel after facing those other trainers.
