S.S Anne can be dangerous when fighting too many battles

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

Note: Some screenshots taken did not capture but the main things from those were this.. went to listen to the Pokemon fan club president speak about Pokemon and for this, Goliath got the bike voucher. Went to the poke mart and bought super potions and some extra items to stock up. Then headed straight to the S.S Anne.

Fighting the sailors here sometimes might see some water Pokemon used but for this one, he had Exeggcute at level twenty one and it was a powerhouse. Between using hypnosis and then launching a barrage of damage, the lower Farfetch'd had no hope in doing anything here except for one peck attack. This prompted the use of Venonat next to do some major damage in this battle.

It was successful in doing some major damage to the Exeggcute.. unfortunately that hypnosis and while it did get disabled once, managed to put Venonat to sleep and use barrage multiple times which means, this fight for Venonat was over and it was up to Grimer now, to finish the job on such a tough to beat Pokemon!

Even Grimer was having a tough time with that combo and saw it get weakened down a lot. A super potion was used to heal up the damage, a short barrage did a little more before awakening was used to wake up Grimer.

After this had happened, finally Grimer used pound to get the final blow onto this dreaded Exeggcute and it was a victory against this sailor.

The next sailor was more of an easier battle to win but a good thing was getting Farfetch'd to level fifteen and learning the great fury attack, by healing it at the start of battle so it can face off against and take out the Seel. Its peck was quite a strong one to do more damage quicker than Seel could, who missed a couple of headbutts.

Next up was Onix which was a good opportunity to get Squirtle leveling to fifteen as well as water gun to do more water damage than bubble, by using bubble and taking no damage, since Onix didn't get off any damaging attacks!

It was able to use water gun then, against the final Pokemon which was Cubone and it was weak against water. So the experience was a welcome addition towards level sixteen which would have to be close now.

One sailor fought against next had a higher level Farfetch'd which started off bad at first but when a heap of misses allowed Goliath to get fury attack off, multiple times and do some damage, it made it easier for Grimer to finish the job.. until Charmeleon came out and Squirtle was subbed in for that water gun domination!

With this defeat of the Charmeleon, giving a whole lot of experience and getting Squirtle to level sixteen now, it was able to evolve into Wartortle and has just gotten a bigger boost in power from evolving.

It's looking like Goliath will have to heal up so his Pokemon can keep competing against the trainers and their Pokemon, still waiting to fight on the S.S Anne. Stay tuned to see what these trainers have in store and to see the hidden machine cut get given after word of Hive being on the ship, no doubt wanting another battle!

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)

This was Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Thirteen

Stay tuned to see how I go with leveling, what team I am using and my journey as I progress through Pokemon Blue.

You can find Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Twelve here

All screenshots taken are from my playthrough of Pokemon Blue with randomised same level areas and using Venonat as the starter.

I love that in this community there are people with culture who play the old Pokémon releases. I couldn't keep up with you with the parts, but I appreciate you uploading. I really want to upload my own gameplay of Pokémon Yellow, but unmodified.
Excellent post. Regards

I link each previous part after the post.
But I love the originals as I grew up with them.
Hope to see you upload your Pokemon Yellow playthrough!
