I finally Got To Play Golem Overlord

in #hive-1402172 years ago

Just a few days ago I have hear about this new game on Hive

I am a bit late to the party with this game already running for a few weeks. But the recent reviews got me more interested. I have played a few idle games on WEB2 many year ago and liked the general idea. But since they were WEB2 games, they didn't have any rewards. The only reason people were playing them were for the fun of it, but honestly they weren't that much fun to justify the hours one had to pour into them. So... that puts us to WEB3 games. Here we can at least earn and trade our in game assets!

Easy to play

When I first saw the game on one screen I didn't have any idea what to do. There is a lot crammed into the screen, but it is all quite simple. I won't go into the details as they are already some god guides out there. There is also the whitepaper where you'll find many details.

The basics are this: you level up your golem/base to earn more rewards. On the left you can see some stats like Power and Fortification which you will need to lvl up to make your attacks stronger when battling an enemy and your defenses stronger to defend off attackers. The Algorithm and the Charging Station increase the speed at which you recover parts, the in game token. Faith determines how much you can loot in an attack.

The battles are first not too obvious. You have to click on "battle" on the bottom right corner. You can then see a list of all players which you can battle. You chose your opponent basically by seeing their Fortification levels as well as how much parts they have in their stash. The more the better, but the Fortification should of course be lower than your Power.

In the top right corner you can see some more stats as well as your battle energy. This energy gets higher the more you level up your base and it determines how many battles you can do at a time.

There are several strategies one can try to play. One common is to first do the battles and then claim your stash (which can be done every 8 hours). In that way you have some parts to do some upgrades. You should spend them fast because anybody that sees that you have a lot of parts in your stash will quickly attack you.

Conclusion

We'll have to see how fast this game can evolve and add new features as this will greatly effect the success of the game. But so far the devs have struck a cord by releasing an idle game on Hive. There seems to be quite a bit of potential. So will you join as well? ;) If you do, you can use my referral link.

I also played this game, just 3 days. My main target is to get back 30 Hive registration fee before making more upgrades in the game.

yep makes sense, wonder how long it will take as I am still spending every Part on upgrades

I played Terracore and it took me a week to earn 10Hive.
Now I apply the same strategy and already earned 10 Hive. Probably I can get 30 hive after 2 weeks.

@tipu curate

Oh nice! I'm playing Terracore which is mostly similar, and have written an article to introduce the game to French speakers 😀

Currently the Terracore "citizenship" costs some 24 Hives, a bit less than the Golem registration

cool, I'll give it a try
