STEEMMONSTERS VOTING CRITERIA - SPLINTERLANDS

in #hive-1402172 years ago

Social Media Challenge.
Share Your Battle.
Art Contest.

Compartilhar quanto você investiu (SPS, DEC, GLX e etc).

I believe that almost all Splinterlands players who frequent Hive social media (via frontends like Peakd, Ecency, Leofinance, Delog and others.) know the Splinterlands Challenges where you make a post covering the game and it can be rewarded with votes from the @Steemmonsters official account.

There are three existing challenges:
Social Media Challenge.
Share Your Battle.
Art Contest.

Each one has its own characteristics but have the same participation rules. You must create original and quality content, share it on another social media and submit your entry to the challenge, being limited to two entries per person (regardless of which challenge it is).

The main point that everyone must understand is that this vote is not a charity. The content creator is rewarded for sharing Splinterlands with as many people as possible, generating engagement and distributing knowledge for the game, so posts that most achieve these goals tend to receive the best votes.

If the content is not meeting the necessary requirements (evaluated according to the curator) it may receive a very low vote or not be voted at all. This situation tends to get worse when many people start sending low quality posts just to "farm votes", generating a congestion in the challenges. In order to reduce this problem I want to share with you the main criteria for receiving the official Splinterlands vote.

1st criterion: be a real player!

Splinterlands challenges are limited to two entries per person in order to properly distribute good votes among everyone. Avoiding Fake accounts is main challenge for the curators and those that are identified are banned from the challenge (including the main account), so only create Splinterlands content if you are a real player.

You don't need to be a whale with thousands of cards or play in the Diamond league to receive good votes, but you need to be an active player who does your daily focuses, who rents/buys cards and who tries to evolve in the league. Dozens of accounts make posts sharing Novice League battles. These accounts do not have any cards and do not do missions, that is, they do not add anything to Splinterlands and the community and only try to create low quality posts to "earn easy money". This is not the purpose of the challenges and these accounts will not receive votes until they show an interest in growing within the game.

If you're an active player (regardless of whether you're in the Novice or Bronze league), show it by leveling your league, renting cards and making creative posts. If you are a true player you will be well rewarded for creating content about Splinterlands!

2nd criterion: create interesting content!

Keep in mind that there are no shortcuts to being well rewarded. You must strive to create quality content. This doesn't mean writing 3000 words covering numerous aspects of the game, but writing 100 words sharing what your daily chest rewards were is not considered suitable for weekly challenges entries. There are other examples that can be cited that do not meet the Splinterlands voting criteria for the same reason:

Share your purchased/rented cards.
Share your daily/season chests.
Share how much you invested (SPS, DEC, GLX and others).

All of the examples above amount to the same question: who cares what you've earned/bought/invested? Don't worry, this might sound arrogant so let me explain. No one wants to read content just by seeing what cards you took from the chests because that doesn't add anything to the reader. However, this same post in a different context can become quality content.

Imagine the player who made a post showing what their rewards were when playing for 15 days in the Bronze league and compares it with the rewards for 15 days in the Silver league, evaluating whether or not it was positive to move up in the league. Many players who are playing in the Bronze league and wondering whether or not to move up in the league will be interested in this content. This also encompasses all the other examples mentioned.

Another common mistake that some content creators make when trying to use shortcuts to lessen their efforts and earn easy votes in challenges is the abusive use of Templates. These post templates should only be used so that the player can maintain a standard in their content (my posts for example always end with the same phrase and gif) but some accounts create content that is practically the same by changing only the prints and names of the cards in question.

Source.

Put yourself in the reader's shoes and imagine if he would like to read one post exactly like other without adding any new knowledge. This practice also does not reach the basic criteria to receive the @Steemmonsters vote and the player who tries to abuse templates can be muted from the weekly challenges.

When deciding to create a post about Splinterlands, always ask yourself the following question: What will this post add to my reader? There is no correct answer but your content must be interesting for those who will read it. You can make someone laugh, you can discuss mistakes when creating a strategy in a certain game or share your experiences using a card you like a lot. The important thing is that your content is filled with own experiences, analyzes and interpretations that you may have about any subject involving Splinterlands.

Creating interesting and unique content is extremely difficult and will take time, but remember that you will be well rewarded if you stick with it and keep improving your content day after day. And of course, don't forget to try evolve within the game as well as this will bring you many new experiences to share in your posts.

3rd criterion: don't be a leech!

In addition to the two previous criteria, avoid being the leech content creator who, in addition to not putting effort into the created content, also Power Down everything he receives. The main purpose of @Steemmonsters is to promote the growth of the Splinterlands and Hive community. If the person does not show interest in engaging in either of the two communities then there is no reason to be voted. Those willing to stay and grow within this wonderful ecosystem will be able to use the Weekly Challenges as a boost to reward your content while you grow your own profile, meet new people and increase your engagement.

Knowing all these criteria is extremely important so that content creators can orient themselves and improve their content accordingly. To receive @Steemmonsters votes, just follow the rules of the weekly Challenges, create original and quality content, don't try to take shortcuts and always seek to grow as a player and content creator on Hive. By doing this you will surely succeed, just be patient and consistent with your content, posting frequently and evolving it whenever possible. If you dedicate yourself, the fruits you will reap in the future will be great!

Thanks for your support, it's always a great incentive to keep producing quality content!

Thanks for this. Good to know the thoughts from someone voting with steemmonsters account

I'm sure it will! Have a good weekend man

Excellent post, these criteria could not have been explained any clearer, good job brother.

Thanks for the compliment. Your content has also added some great instructions on how to improve the content!

Thank you very much, the important thing is that as a team we can guide these users to do the right thing.

Wow, this is really helpful
I was thinking to start participating in weekly battle challenge (for the first time)
And this blog clears all things and also gave me good tips...

But I am confused, I have nothing to add experience to other players...
I am not a tournament player (didn't learn much, don't have many strategies) but hope and will try to learn/understand things from now 😅

One more confusion, Art contest is open for all 🤔 for non-splinterlands people too.

Thanks Underlock for sharing this important points with us, and also thanks to Zaku bhayya for sharing this blog with #neoxian citizens.

Just go through your team selection choices and why you chose them. Honestly I am terrible at the game and I have been able to get some upvotes on my battle challenges. Just make sure to follow all the rules. (I spent a while looking at upvoted examples)

I used their suggested topics/ ideas as headings at first before I found my style. Good luck!

Thanks Holdeck, yeah I already published my blog (for the first time in my blogging history 🤣)
and will improve it, time by time

Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

Your experience as a new player is already very important. Currently the new user experience on Splinterlands is pretty bad, so sharing what your main difficulties are would already add a lot to the community!

hehe I not a new player.
I am playing for years 🤣 but I joined this weekly battle challenge (for the first time)
And yeah you are right about new players but what I understand about new players...
Those who are really in p2e games, mostly loves this game 😅 (just my thoughts)

hmmm, how should I address the right words here....

other curators did that and they used their privilege as curator to get higher SteemMonsters vote. I do not need to spill names, everyone knows. This habit occurs because people copying them, most people think simply following which post that has got high upvotes.

It really is a problem when "mirror people" set bad examples. Again everything said here is not a judgment on what you should or shouldn't do with your content, it's just metrics that I and other curators have when evaluating a post. The extra votes values that curators receive are a way of rewarding their services, but we are still subject to making quality content and we are always policing ourselves in this regard (at least I do that 🤣)

Excelent Post ! Thank you for the advises!

I hope this content is useful!

I found this really helpful to consider while evaluating my content.

Thanks for this! Perhaps sticky this to the "What you earn" or the " Manual Curation" section of the Splinterlands challenge posts going forward? Would be a good redirect for newcomers looking to get started.

I know you curators have A TON of work with all these challenges out there. Three are literally hundreds of posts that need to be curated every week.
I just have one suggestion, if that's not too much work - for example, you curate a post that could be a great post if only the author did one thing, added something or removed something else, so you have to give it a lesser vote then maybe it could get. Could you write in your reply what could we do to improve the post so we know for next time.
I'm not asking to do it with every post, especially with low effort posts where anyone can see that it doesn't deserve a vote.
Thank you for this post, it will help many of us.

Keep up the great work. Hats off for your whole team 👍

Everything you mentioned here would be ideal for the healing process. Unfortunately there are times when it cannot be applied due to lack of time but I will try to do it whenever possible.

I'm also thinking about the possibility of making a post selecting some posts (with the creator's permission) pointing out some points of failure (in my opinion) and suggestions for improvement. It may be useful but I'm afraid it seems a bit too expository

I've always had this question to ask about steemmonsters vote... Does playing at the higher league (Gold/Silver) gets you rewarded higher than playing at a lower league (Bronze) assuming that both contents are at the same quality?

!PIZZA

Posted using Splintertalk

The answer is yes and no, let me try to explain. Considering two content of equal quality the curator will evaluate how engaged the player is in Splinterlands. Theoretically Silver/Gold players win in this criterion, however if it is perceived that the content creator despite being in Bronze is actually a real player (he may be in Bronze because he started recently or has not yet learned how to improve in a league properly) it will be voted just as well.
