Introduction

About a week ago I met up with my boss for dinner to discuss about his plan for the company. He let me choose the place to eat and I was feeling like KBBQ. This was my first time at Hwaro BBQ and I will share my thoughts on it in this post.

HWARO BBQ Malaysia is a Korean bbq restaurant. Their BBQ is using charcoal and they claim to be an authentic korean bbq by importing all the ingredients and tools from Korea. I found this restaurant through google reviews and surprisingly I never knew about it until that day. The reviews were at 4.5 which is pretty good so I thought it was worth a shot trying this KBBQ.

Food

We went for the all you can eat BBQ instead of ala carte. In Korean BBQs, they always provide side dishes. Personally, my favorite Korean side dish is kimchi. I ordered one of every meat which was pork belly, pork shoulder, spicy pork belly, spicy chicken, marinated pork shoulder and marinated lamb. My boss only ate chicken because he avoids red meat for his health so his chicken was cooked on a separate grill. I also ordered one soju because my boss drinks but he's never drank soju before so I wanted to let him try. Honestly, I had one cup of it but I don't really like to drink.

Concluding Thoughts

I really liked this restaurant. I loved the charcoal bbq. I liked how the staff can cook for the customers. I actually took a picture shared below of the staff that helped us cook the meat. He was great to chat with and he even explained to us all the food and shared a bit about where he came from and how long he worked there. In the end, we gave him a tip in cash because Malaysia isn't the best for waiter and waitresses. If we tipped through normal ways, the boss probably would've kept the money.

The restaurant gave Korean vibes by playing K-pop and the service was excellent. The food was great and I don't really have any complaints. I can see why they have a high rating on google reviews. I ended up paying for this one since I chose the place and I don't like it if my boss is the one always to pay. The meal came out around RM132 which is about $28 USD. It's a bit pricy for Malaysia standards but I think this was worth it. I don't have any regrets!
