Introduction
A while back when my family visited Malaysia, we walked around The Exchange TRX because it was their first time walking in this mall. It was also my first time walking in that mall. That was the day where we saw a super long line waiting to eat Kanbe Ramen so my mom wanted to give the place a try. On the second time, we went to the mall with my step-dad since it was his first time because he was sick so he didn't join us the first time. We decided to try Kanbe Ramen for lunch. We went during a non-peak hour so we didn't have to wait at all. I will share my thoughts on the ramen here.
Kanbe Ramen
Kanbe Ramen is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in ramen. Currently, they have three locations in Malaysia. There is one at Sunway 163, another at The Exchange TRX, and one more at AEON Mall Tebrau City. They have two other branches in Mont Kiara but they specialize in yakiniku and sushi. The google reviews are overall positive sitting at 3.9. There seems to be a mix of reviews and people say the main branch is better. I guess it's a hit or miss with the broth and there could be some inconsistency in the food.
Food
I loved the in-depth explanation of every part of the ramen especially the types of soup broth so it's easier to figure out which soup broth I wanted.

This was my ramen. I had the aka soup broth which was a bit spicy but not too spicy. Honestly, I enjoyed the ramen but I don't think it's the best ramen I've ever had. Nonetheless, it was good and definitely worth giving a try.
They gave complimentary tea and I thought that was pretty cool since other ramen places would make you pay for a beverage. I think they added the cost to the ramen though but I could be wrong so maybe it's not a big difference.
Concluding Thoughts
This meal was covered by my parents. Thanks for the treat. Overall, it's hard to go wrong with ramen. I think Kanbe ramen is good but it's probably a bit overhyped and not as great as it cut out to be. It's a bit on the premium side so it's not a ramen restaurant I would go to all the time. The service was great and the food was alright. I'll give this place an 8 out of 10.
