Introduction

Aw I'm so behind on my eating out posts. I had dinner at Shimexin noodle house a few weeks back. I was there for the first day they were open! That's why you can see from the picture that there were flowers outside. I'm not sure if this is everywhere but in Chinese culture it's common to give flowers for grand openings as a way of giving luck to the business. The cool part about this restaurant is that it's super near my house. I can walk to it in less than five minutes. Anyways, I will be sharing the food photos and my thoughts on the food.

Shimexin Noodle House is a chinese restaurant that specializes in noodles. Despite this, they also have other options with rice but I haven't tried those so I'm not too sure if they are good or not. They have noodle in the name of their restaurant so I went there for the noodles. The place was well decorated. It was a somewhat open kitchen so you could see the people working in the back. As you can see in the picture, it was a full house because this was the first day it was open but even when I went back another time it still had a lot of people. The google reviews aren't too bad with a 4.2 stars but with only 17 reviews.

Food

I had the pork belly with milk soup base and ramen as the noodles. The place let's you customize the type of noodle you want and the soup base. The set came with some honey anchovies and a taro coconut ice cream sago.

I loved the pork belly. They gave a good size portion which exceeded my expectation and the pork was nice and fatty. The milk soup base broth was amazing. As for the ramen, how can youg o wrong with ramen. Honestly, I didn't like the anchovies. The taste was just not for me but there are people that like that. I loved the dessert. This taro coconut ice cream sago was nice to have last after finishing the noodles and soup.

Concluding Thoughts

I enjoyed the food. I actually came back to try the curry soup base which was pretty good too and I have shared a photo below. I prefer the milk base soup though. Food didn't take too long to be served. The place was nice and clean. The bill came out to almost RM23 which is about $5.4 USD. I genuinely feel this was worth because of the portion that they gave a long with the side dish and the dessert. It's super worth it! The menu is quite big; I left some photos of the menu at the end. That's all from me! See you for my next food adventure!
