October is still filled with lots of rainfall! So I have to be careful so that the various types of plants in my garden are safe.
In addition to high rainfall, there are also wind attacks that often come together with rain. This is very dangerous. But I learned from the past, that I have to immediately secure some plants that are prone to collapse due to the impact of rain and wind.
First, I thought about tomato plants. The tomato plants in my garden are already 3 weeks old and have grown tall. So, in this gardening activity I will install plant supports for my tomato plants.
I prepared long bamboos. The length of the bamboo is 2 meters. At that time, I used these bamboo poles for cucumber plants. Because all my cucumbers have been harvested and the land has even been replaced with other plants, so I can use these poles for tomato plant supports.
Before installing plant supports on tomato plants, I also cleaned the weeds around the planting medium. Also, I pruned the old leaves at the bottom of the tomato plants.
I also prepared additional planting media to cover the roots of the tomato plants. High rainfall causes the planting media to quickly decrease. So, the planting media must be added again.
After installing plant supports on the tomato plants. I feel happy. Seeing my tomato plants grow well and now they are already producing flowers.
After finishing with the tomato plants, I continued to care for my shallot plants.
These shallots are now almost 3 months old after being transplanted. Almost ready to harvest.
I fertilized the shallot plants with compost. Also, cleaned the weeds. Pruning the old leaves on the shallot plants.
After that, I also tidied up the leaves of the shallot plants with a special hook. Carefully so as not to injure the leaves of the shallot plants.
My shallot plants look beautiful and full of love. Actually, this is also my first time growing shallot plants from seeds directly, not from shallot bulbs. So, I am really excited to see how the harvest will turn out. Let's wait together!
Before I invite you to harvest, I will invite you to see one of my cabbage plants! This is also my first time growing cabbage to this size.
Out of the many cabbage seeds that I planted, only one cabbage plant could grow and finally I took care of it until it was this size. Indeed, it is not ready to be harvested yet, so let's just wait.
It's time to harvest! First, I harvested mustard green flowers. I have harvested these mustard green flowers many times.
I am very grateful that this type of vegetable can give me a sustainable harvest and I can use this harvest to cook in my kitchen.
In addition to mustard greens, I also harvested purple eggplant plants. There are many purple eggplants that are ready to be harvested.
The thing that amazed me was the colors of the harvest this time were very beautiful. Bright! Look at them. ❤️
Have you started your garden today? May you have a garden side in your home and bring you peace!
