in #hive-1406354 months ago

Once you succeed in doing that, many great things will also come to you. Although starting the first step is hard.

Hello, gardening lovers! I come in September with a lot of anticipation. I planted many things in the previous months in my organic garden.

Usually I combine vegetables that are 3 months old to harvest and vegetables that are about 1 month old and similar to that.

Organic gardening teaches me about the cleanliness of the planting area, as well as the health of the planting medium. If these two things are always well maintained, then we can minimize pest attacks.

I am very grateful that currently pest attacks are not a worrying thing. There are pests that attack but they do not cause damage and death to the plants.

The arrival of pests is normal, but how should we learn to overcome them, especially with the availability of organic ingredients for organic pesticides. If I start to see pest attacks, I usually use onion skin soaking water to overcome the pests.

In this month's garden journal, I invite you to see the harvest of various types of plants in my garden. I'm really excited! Stay tuned ☘️☘️☘️

Water Spinach

These Asian green leafy types are the easiest vegetables to grow, and can also be grown to harvest without fertilizer or pesticides. With a harvest period of only 20 days.

To get the maximum water spinach harvest even without fertilizer, we must use a mixture of soil, rice husks, and manure. And we don't need to do additional fertilization because this vegetable is harvested 20 days after planting.

In fact, we don't need to sow in the seedbed first. We can plant seeds directly in a raised bed or in a container or even in a polybag or sack.

This is the water spinach that I planted in my organic garden and is ready to harvest in twenty days. I will also share this harvest with my neighbors and family.

Mustard Greens

In addition to water spinach, I also plant green vegetables that are a favorite of Indonesians. Mustard greens.

Mustard greens can be harvested starting from 30 days after transplanting. These green vegetables are very tasty when sauteed with garlic, or these vegetables are usually used as a mixture of noodle dishes.

Baby Cucumber

Since I started gardening in January 2024, this year, in September I got the best results for harvesting baby cucumbers compared to previous months.

The key to maximum cucumber harvest is maximum cucumber irrigation. If the weather is hot, I usually water them through a small ditch next to the raised bed.

Here are the many baby cucumber harvests. I chose the baby cucumber type because it tastes sweet. 😊❤️

Shallots

A type of kitchen spice that we can easily grow in our yard or garden is shallots.

The shallot plants in my organic garden have also been harvested. I am very grateful for this harvest!

Cauliflowers

I love so much cauliflowers! September is the second harvest for cauliflowers since I started gardening last January.

In fact, I planted these cauliflower plants not with seeds, but from shoots that grew from previous plants that had been harvested.

How crazy it is! Even the cauliflower harvest this time looks better in sizes. For starters, I only harvested 2 heads of cauliflowers while the others are still waiting to be ready to harvest

Because these cauliflowers just organic way, so we can't expect a super big size. But I like it like this! Just being what it is but truly delicious!

Those are some of my harvests for the beginning of September. More harvesting will coming! Hope you guys have a wonderful time in your garden!

I didn't realise morning glory harvest so quick, I may try that next year. I notice you have a sticker around your produce, will you be selling that at the market?

When you harvest water spinach / morning glory late about 30 days, the bottom of the stem will get hard, so the ideal time is 20 days, so we do need to cut / remove their stem to much. I heard on my country, water spinach is illegal to grow. How's your living country rules for now about growing water spinach?

For the stickers, I use for cucumbers to make cucumbers looks great, dominant to hang on the their stems, to complete my Youtube video visual.

For the mustard greens, the stickers will help the stems not easily be broken when big rain and wind comes :)

For now, I gave my harvest for free for surrounding people here :)

I Google growing morning glory in UK and it's ok, but they did say it's illegal in some countries because it's an invasive plant. How come you're still growing them? Isn't it a bit dangerous if you're still posting on social media?

Here, we called it Kangkong, cheap vegetables and often for daily side dishes at home. So kangkong is really popular in Indonesia, also another Asian countries. Cheap here because it is easy to grow :) and indeed not dangerous things here

The work you do in your garden is just admirable. Keep doing that!

Thank you. This garden activity is soo addictive for me 😊

Cool! I want to garden too after seeing your harvest.

Hope you can have garden too in the future

Now, I'm craving for cucumber salad. That baby cucumber looks so nice. It seems like a decoration.

The harvest in your garden is amazing! Healthy plants and minimal pest problems are always a great win in the ground.

But yeah we must hard work to remove wild grasses almost every day 😊

Your crop is divine! I would be over the moon with excitement everyday. The cauliflower is truly a masterpiece.

One of my top favourite veggies in the world is mustard greens. I would never get tired of them.

Congratulations on this amazing harvest.

My garden location is on my terrace also in the side of my bed room, so this truly treasure for me ❤️
Thank you dear

That looks really better harvest, Nice to see fresh vegetables and your happy face. Just wondering why the plastic tape on the vegetables?. Is there some reason? Congratulations. A hug

Plastic tape on mustard greens to avoid the stems be broken when rain and wind come 😊

Harvesting time is the important thing to keep us exicited on the garden 😊

Wow, your garden looks incredible! 🌱 The amount of love and care you put into growing these beautiful vegetables really shines through. I’m especially impressed with your organic methods and how you handle pests so naturally. It’s inspiring! The water spinach, mustard greens, and baby cucumbers look so fresh, and I can imagine how rewarding it must be to share those harvests with your neighbors and family. Your cauliflower journey is also amazing. Seeing them thrive organically must feel so fulfilling. Thank you for sharing this journey. I can't wait to see what you harvest next!

Never be easy to grow cauliflowers in the low land area. That was my second time. The first time was bad because the cauliflowers head is attack by black dots around. So then I learn to cover the head with their leaves once the flower come out. It is really works 😊

Thank you so much 😊

you always get the right way to make your garden look so nice. thats great😍

Thanks sis ❤️
