mint before some pest started eating it in the night.

Hello fellow Gardeners,
You may recall my posts about the healthy growth of this mint plant my wife was gifted when she visited a school farm somewhere in our city.
Subsequent to that I wrote in the cinnamoncup community about the refreshing tea we have have been enjoying from this mint plant.

Well recently we have been noticing that something has been taking huge chunks out of the leaves and we have been having some difficulty figuring out what it is. Do you have any idea what this could be?

This is a mistery that my family and I have been trying to solve but each time we searched the plant in the day we find no evidence of pests (except for the missing parts of some leaves of course).

After further investigation and seeking some advice from an online garden group we decided to check the plant at night instead. Low and behold we found the culprit hanging out in our balcony garden in the middle of the night. Creepy right?

A question for the more experienced gardeners out there.

We got rid of this particular insect but how can we prevent a situation like this from recurring?Any advice you can give will be appreciated.
