Welcome Back, to Blue's Garden Tips: Sowing Potato in 2023!
My family LOVES Fresh Potato! Nothing Like it, and this is how I sow and grow my own potato to feed my family. I plant in Fabric Grow Bags, 3 twenty five gallon and 2 ten gallon bags. Find out how I make my own grow mix, and what fertilizers I use. I sow twice per year, in each container. My gardens are in New England, zone 6b/7a.
Please give this a watch and perhaps, consider giving my video a like and subscribe to my channel. I could use all the help I can get.
Normally, it takes about 3 or 3 1.2 months for the potato to be ready for harvest. Once the green growth becomes yellowed, and starts to drop over, that means the potato are ready for harvesting:
Once I harvest, onto a table to allow the potato to cure:
After I harvest, (Usually early July) I immediately refresh the soil, add some more fertilizer and replant Potato, to get a second harvest, end of October.
And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.
