Harvesting Indoor Salad Greens

Part II of my Indoor Salad Greens Videos
For those who prefer to watch on YouTube:

Part I: Sowing Indoor Salad Greens

Earlier, I planted Red Romaine and Little Gem Butterhead Lettuce, as well as Arugula, and Spinach. Follow along as I show you an update on the growing Salad greens, as well as first harvest of the greens for my Salad today.

Most of you know, I prefer locally grown food. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. In fact, I prefer to grow my own food. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.

Do you grow and store your own food?

I love going to the garden to pick my own salad. So satisfying!

right?
Nothing beats garden fresh!

Seeing the harvest alone makes me want to own a garden but then I know it's always sweet during harvest and not when you're struggling with clearing, cutting, planting and weeding

Beautiful works dear... Your harvest are all looking wonderful... Speaks volume of how good you are with farming

Cut and come again ✔️ I'm learning gardening terminology from you short videos 🙂 Salad looks awesome. We have been using a maple syrup vinaigrette lately. Its yummy and lets us use some local maple syrup.

At my last craft fair, I bought Maple Syrup from a couple of sisters, in VT.
A Bourbon Barrel aged Maple Syrup, and a simple Maple Syrup.

I absolutely love baby spinach in salads 🤩 and butter lettuce is also a winner. Have you tried growing a crispy lettuce, like ice berg? You'll never have to worry about running out of salad ingredients!

in summer, with more room outside, I grow a few more kinds of lettuce:
Iceberg, 2 kinds of Red Romaine, 2 Leafy Green Romaine, Butterhead, plus 2 spinaches, and an Arugula.

not as much space inside, so, I pick my favorites and the fastest growing types

This is cool and I like your bold voice running the summary of the growing process, sound really better than what have heard on discord.

Thanks for the teaching, I actually buy food. It is difficult to grow food especially when you do not own the space where you stay. Indoor planting, does that mean the plant doesn't need the sun?

Light, heat and water, indoors, in my basement

Wow, that's incredible. Happy weekend to you sir
