My Children's Mini Garden

in #hive-140635last year

It's just a nice day for my daughter and her brother after seeing their plants germinating. They planted corn initially, but somehow got uprooted by someone we do not know. My boy said it was a ghost that uprooted their corn. Now, they had to prepare another one, which is a coco yam.

At a time, I tried to ask them not to always draw closer to the sand packed right in front of the house, but they wouldn't listen. They kept on pestering me to buy them another corn so that they would pant again since they had lost the former one. I asked them to be patient and wait until their mother goes to the market. My boy had to call his mum and tell her what I had said to them. After two days, no one knows how they got another corn, which they planted. They did not inform anyone about it, but suddenly, we saw something germinating from the sand. My kids began to smile after seeing their corn germinating. They said we had got the corn from a neighbour.

Three days later, my neighbour who they got corn from mistakenly stepped on the corn and got them destroyed. They began to lament. My boy cried so hard, but then the corn would not come back again unless they planted another set.

This was when I saw three leftover coco yams in the house already growing. I have the three of my children and their happiness emanated yet again. They began to smile and immediately got them planted. Now, they always water the coco yam every morning. Everyone in the compound knew that they planted something in the sand. So, they asked everyone to keep off from their garden.

It was a good idea for them to have this plan of theirs. Planting is part of life, and most, especially in the lives of kids. They derived joy from whatever they planted, irrespective of what was being planted.

I have dimmed it fit to make this sand their garden. Soonest, I would fence it and allow them to plant whatever they feel like planting. They had to plant beans as well. The beans has germinated. The two are so happy to have planted these items.

Meanwhile, close to my children's mini garden, I have been throwing peppers and tomatoes. So, for now, they have grown so well even to the extent of germinating fruits. This is also what my children have been guiding me about. They had wanted a garden, and now they have more than a garden.
