New Year, New Challenges, My Garden's Resilient Start to 2025

I didn’t expect this to happen to my plants. It’s like frostbite! A cold draft swept through my garden, damaging the leaves and flowers. Some of the stems and branches bent slightly as well.🌱

I haven’t watered my plants for almost four days because of the cold weather. From what I’ve observed, the water in the soil doesn’t dry up quickly. I often check the soil to see if it’s still moist underneath or completely dry. Most of the time, only the surface is dry, while the deeper layers remain moist.🌱

This is what happened to my cherry tomato plant—I decided to water it with slightly warm water since there was some leftover heat from our bathroom water heater. I believe it can survive with this method.🌱

These are the branches and leaves of my bitter melon plant that dried up due to the cold weather. Even my fingers froze from the extreme cold that morning, especially since I wasn’t wearing any warm clothing. I immediately grabbed the hose near the back of the bathroom and washed my hands, as the water was slightly warm.🌱

Here are my potato plants, which were not severely affected, except that their stems have started to bend. I decided to provide support for each one to prevent them from breaking completely and dying.🌱

Here are the Cherry Tomato plants along the wall. Only their leaves were slightly affected, and I have also added support to each one since their stems have started to lean due to the strong winds.🌱

Here are my squash plants, growing quickly and extending rapidly. Their leaves and the direction of their growth were slightly affected by the wind. I’ve already added support to guide their crawling growth and removed excess stems to allow the new leaves to develop properly.🌱

That's all for now—this is the update for the first week of January 3, 2025.
