As part of the community service execution, I had to clean a specific area of my faculty (social communication) that we were assigned, then I will show you the process in the garden that I did with my work group, first we started to cut the grass with the help of a large knife or also called machete here in my country, also we made use of the shovel to pick up the weeds once cut.
Honestly, I had never been involved in the world of gardening before, in fact, I had never picked up a shovel in my life, but thanks to this service at the university I was able to learn how to clean the weeds in the most appropriate way.
And well, not to deviate further from the topic, it is important to note that the soil was not so hard because the day before it rained and this made the soil loosen a little, thus facilitating the work of removing the plants because I also wanted to emphasize that not only the lawn was cut but also many plants that have the name "lily" were removed and then transplanted in various places and even the same area in which we are working, but I will be sharing this process in more detail in another post.
I must confess that in the first hours of removing the grass we used our hands with the protection of gloves, well it was also because the first part was a little complex to use tools other than hands because of the way where the grass was located and it was also little quantity to use such a large object, however I am not sure if doing this first procedure with gloves is the most appropriate or if it is easier to do it with the rustic sword (i.e. the machete).
As we were removing the grass we realized that we needed more tools to speed up the process and make it faster because although the soil was a little wet and loose it was not enough so we used a weeder which is an agricultural tool to dig into the ground and remove all the weeds (or whatever you want to remove) from the root so that they do not grow back and I think it was the best decision because from there it was easy and simple.
With the help of this weeder we had almost all the land we had planned ready in a blink of an eye, every meter of grass that we eliminated we let it fall on all the scattered soil and then we put it together with the red rake that you see in the photos and of course the shovel.
I am happy because I achieved the goal of eliminating the grass and remove much of the lilies to transplant it later, thanks for reading me see you in a next opportunity bye bye I hope you liked the content and the whole process that took to work this land.
