Gardening is a skill, a talent and above all a passion.

We don't have enough space for gardening in our home because we don't have big backyard nor front yard but because I and my husband both loves gardening we still find ways to make a garden.

In front of our small house, we have a small garden by using pots and used sacks for gardening. I have shared about it here before so for now I will just give some update.

Spring onions

I replanted some of my spring onions as some are so many in one pot. I just used paint container as a pot for my spring onions.

I also clean them up by removing weeds around them.

I am so happy seeing them so healthy by using organic fertilizer.

Malabar spinach

We commonly call it alugbati in our local dialect. I and my son really love this green leafy vegetable and this made me plant even in a used sack. They were so many in one sack but I am so glad that they are also healthy. I already harvested its leaves many times.

I also sow some seeds of it hoping it will grow too in the days to come.

Tomatoes

I sow the seeds and my husband replanted it and look! It already have some fruits now. Days from now for sure they will be riped and will be ready for harvest.

Eggplant

Our eggplant gave us a lot of fruits before but recently they were few and so small might be because of the very hot weather this month.

Organic fertilizer

Rice water

I used rice water to water my plants. Here's my son watering our spring onions and watering the plants is his participation in our gardening.

Banana peel and egg shells

I saw some post about it especially from @jhero22 and so I tried it also. I don't have a big container to store water for it so I just use paint container. I put banana peels in it as well as some egg shells and put water. After a night or a day, I also used the water to water our plants.

OUR GARDEN AS AN INSPIRATION

Yes, our garden became an inspiration for others especially to our neighbor. Seeing that it is really possible to have a small garden even in a small space, some of our neighbor also make a garden.

Others planted too but it didn't succeed as they didn't cover it and chickens damaged their garden.

This time I will show some of our neighbor's plant in their garden.

Spring onions

Yes, they also have spring onions but in a different variety. This spring onions is bigger than ours. Look, it also looks so healthy planted in a small pot.

Bell pepper or sweet pepper

I am amazed with his bell pepper. It is just planted in a used water bottle container but look! It has two bell pepper and they looks healthy too. It's so big.

Sweet potato tops

We commonly call it as camote tops. They just planted it in a catsup plastic container. They cut it, put some soil and planted some stalks of camote tops. This is ready for harvest.

Oregano

They also planted oregano in a pot. This is so helpful for cold, cough and fever.

Let's make gardening contagious. Let's plant and inspire others to plant too.

Thank you so much for reading.

Ngayon ko lang naisip pwd pla rice water idilig. Nice. May garden din kami sa bahay. Sabihan ko si mama bout that hehe. Thanks !LADY

Yes, I learned that from someone and I am using it to water our plants. Iwasan lang masama Yung some piece of rice kasi baka will invite some ants.

You have beautiful tomato plants, eggplants, peppers and scallions.

There are no excuses for planting when you really want to. Because plants grow in soil as well as in pots with organic compost prepared at home as we do.

Yes, the peppers are from my neighbors garden. They are inspired to plant too upon seeing our mini garden in the front yard.

Thanks for dropping by.

Keep it up. Its really good to have a mini garden near your kitchen. It is also great to teach kids the value of producing our own food.

Yes, gardening should be taught to kids as this is one among the basic skills to be learned by everyone.

Thanks for dropping by.

I'm really struggling when it comes to growing spring onions .. They just die after a few weeks of planting huhu. There's only few left on my plant and can't find the problem..since then I'm transplanting it na very often para di mahawa yung iba..

I'm glad that you did that also ate jen. More planting pa para more to harvest.

Try mo magtanim ulit Ng sibuyas dahon, cut it like I did when planting tapos use soil na healthy, I know you have a lot there kasi may mga organic fertilizer ka din na inihahalo sa lupa. Or might be spring onions is not really good in your place. Meron also talagang Ganon na ayaw talaga tumubo.

Your family did gardening really well. Never be easy to do it, me is being difficult 😂

Oh using rice water is great idea.

Yes I and my husband love gardening, how we wish to have a good big land to use for gardening.

Yes, I am using the rice water to water our plants and believed that this is an organic fertilizer.

Thanks for stopping by @anggreklestari

Great post! Rice water is a great feetilizer - the starches break down easily to feed the soil microbes who feed the plant!

Glad you're inspiring your neighbours. I wish we could do that here.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, we love to use rice water for our plants.

Keep on gardening, people around are looking. You never know, somehow you will be an inspiration for them.

What a lovely garden! My wife and I wanted to grow a garden too, but we both do not have green thumbs! Hehe. I think I would like to grow tomatoes, chilis, and calamansi at home.

Oh try and try maybe someday plants will grow.
