Nodules on plant leaves in my garden

in #hive-1406352 years ago

Hi Hive Lovers

This is an abnormal and rare appearance on plant leaves. But I really enjoyed it because the appearance of the nodules is a uniqueness shown by nature. Isn't something abnormal and rarely happening a uniqueness that deserves more attention?

The nodules are scattered randomly over almost the entire surface of the leaf and are particularly eye-catching because of their odd shape and yellowish color that contrasts with the green of the leaves, with a slight redness like bruised skin.

The shape is irregular and protrudes above the surface of the leaf. If you look closely at or touch the surface of the nodule, it will look and feel like the surface of an orange peel with pores.

What do you think when you see a leaf that has bumps like this?

If you are not a plant expert, you will think that it is a plant disease, insect eggs, or something lurking inside.

A gardener in my garden was afraid to even touch it and didn't even want to put his face close to it to take a closer look. He said he was afraid that he would get infected and that his hands would grow nodules like that too. He's just teasing me.

A few days ago, he said that he had broken off some of the nodules with the tip of his garden knife but found nothing, and he could not explain anything about the nodules or bumps that had appeared on the leaves of the plant. He was still curious about the strangeness that appeared on the leaf.

Today, when I tried to pop one of the nodules, there really wasn't a single organism inside. It turns out that the contents are lumps like wood pulp wrapped in leaf membranes and forming nodules like this.

Have you ever experienced insect bites on your skin? Yes, you will experience a lump in your body as a response to irritation from the poison injected by the insect. This is also experienced by a leaf; the nodules on the leaves are also the plant's response to irritation.

Plants will also expend energy and nutrients to maintain and heal themselves. Just like your body's metabolism when exposed to insect bites, your body's metabolism will also work to weaken toxins that enter the body.

It is suspected that the culprits that cause these nodules on the leaves are organisms, either in the form of mites, nematodes, or even bacteria or viruses present on plants. In my opinion, the nodules really bothered the leaves.

Even though the damage caused by the appearance of the nodules does not drop the leaves or kill the plant, I believe that it can disrupt the photosynthesis process and cause the plant to become stressed.

If this is experienced by a young tree, then the young plant will be weak and will not develop properly due to the disruption of photosynthesis, one of the most important processes that occur in leaves.

If there are too many nodules, then it's time for you to contact a plant expert to find out the cause and how to handle it. I will do it to treat my curiosity.

Have you ever found the same thing in your plants, and how did you handle it?
