Tomato is a delicious vegetable. And also it is a winter vegetable. Usually we grow tomatoes here every year in winter and tomato seedlings are sold in the market during this time although tomatoes are always available in the market during this time. Tomatoes available throughout the year are usually kept in the freezer. However, during this time of the year, tomatoes are cultivated in crop fields. And they produce good quality tomatoes and they are sold in the market. Moreover, it is in high demand nowadays. Tomatoes are one of my favorites. Last year we cultivated tomato in few percent of our land and yielded good amount of tomatoes. But last few days we have grown tomatoes in our backyard.
Usually we have grown tomatoes in some part of the unused space behind our house. We have a little area in the back of our house where nothing is usually done. A few days ago, my father planted some tomato seedlings in that area. And the plants grew quite well as the areas were somewhat damp. Although the seedlings are looking pretty fresh now and a few flowers are showing on one plant. Hope the plants yield good results. How many brinjal seedlings my father planted in the same place earlier. But they died a few days ago so new tomato seedlings were planted there.
To keep the saplings in place, each sapling is provided with a stake so that no animal or bird can damage or break them. Especially dogs and chickens pass through this area, so my father has fenced it with poles so that they do not break it. However, a seedling plant is showing a few flowers and hopefully the plants will produce a good crop after a few days. Although we plant different vegetable plants every year so that we can eat fresh vegetables and meet the family needs.
