Preparing the ground for sowing

Sowing for me is synonymous with effort, perseverance and knowledge, without doubt you need passion and love to dedicate yourself to this work, because sowing is laborious, little by little I have felt the need to plant, I want to learn to be able to carry out successful sowings and not fail in the attempt.

These days I was in a training on the realization of organic conucos, it has been a small training but I obtained a significant learning, there I realized that I was a novice in this art, I understood that there are procedures that I was skipping in the small sowings that I have done, I only placed in a pot any land, with these steps I thought I was doing a good job but I didn't take into account that, for sowing, there are a series of procedures that must be followed to achieve good yields in the crops and to be successful in the task, for this we must bear in mind:

The soil with which we are going to sow is very important, this must have the main macronutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium and micronutrients such as: molybdenum, zinc, manganese, chlorine, boron and copper in small quantities, when our land does not have enough nutrients, the plant will have a lower capacity in the formation of its fruits, resulting in smaller fruits and if the soil is very acidic the crop will not be given, for this task should make a study of the soil to see what nutrients to incorporate, sometimes to look for a place where these studies are scarce but there is a way that we can use and it is a tool that is a Ph meter, in the market there are of various prices, they are not so expensive, with this tool we can determine the level of ph that has our soil, if it is very acidic or on the contrary, it is suggested that the ph in the soil should be between 6 to 7.5 to be sure that you are doing things right.

By having a pH between 6 and 7.5 we can be sure that the soil has enough phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen, which are essential macro-elements for the good development of a plant,

In the course, they emphasised the importance of being agroecological, of avoiding as much as possible chemical products that in the end are introduced into our bodies, and for this reason they emphasised that the best thing to do was to obtain an organic substrate, taking from nature the residues of fruit and vegetables together with leaves and small sticks to make a compost bin was necessary to obtain a good substrate.

Pest control and organic fertilisers also need to be paid attention to so that the planting process is guaranteed because it is better to prevent possible pests than to have to correct them.

After this training, this month I plan to sow chives, paprika and tomatoes. I recently bought my seeds, although I am going to collect the seeds of a mature paprika as it was the only seed I did not buy, I also have to buy some substrate to make the seedbeds to sow each seed, this week I will show you the process of sowing in the seedbeds, I have also weeded the area where I plan to sow the tomato and paprika as I plan to sow the chives in bags or pots. The most basic thing at the moment is to nourish the soil where I plan to plant my seedlings, so I estimate that in about 15 days I will do the planting after nourishing my soil with compost.

I am planning to make a new compost bin, at home there is a small compost bin where we throw the remains of fruits, vegetables and leaves, but it is a very small compost bin for the substrate requirements I need. I learned in the training that a way to compost faster was to liquefy the remains of shell and chopping the leaves and weeds as small as possible, in addition to this cover the compost with a tarp to compost faster, every 3 days you have to moisten the contents of the compost bin and move it, in 15 days doing this procedure you will get an organic substrate.

Another of the things that was discussed in the training was the planning of the property, which consists of observing what natural resources there are in our plot or place and from there to plan in detail to have a well distributed garden.
From this planning, we will be able to know the particularities of our intended planting site so that we do not have to improvise and solve problems that could have been avoided with observation and planning.

Putting into practice the land planning I made a tour of the land to see what are the potentialities that my land has and what are the needs that I must pay attention, from there, I will demarcate the area to work, I will also make some homemade drip irrigators because water is one of the factors where there are failures, also the soil lacks the necessary macronutrients, so the first thing that is in my mind is to buy compost and also make it in the compost. With this in mind, the next few days I will be showing you the whole process of my home planting.

Happy gardening dear. :) I also make my own organic compost with all the kitchen waste. I hope you harvest lots of fruit in the next few months!

The compost with vegetables is a great way to get a good substrate, yes, I hope to harvest God willing quite a few vegetables thanks for stopping by, greetings and blessings.
