Hi everyone I hope you are all having a great day and beating the heat! I love plants of all sorts and I really appreciate being able to see and share fun stuff here on Peakd :o)
This year we have quite a few perennial plants that are coming back with little to no work involved, which is awesome!!! I also go hiking daily with my dog Drizzt in the nearby woods and collect a ton of raspberries, mulberries, and blackberries when they are in season 😄
First up this year were the strawberries, we have 5 solid plants now and got about 7lbs of berries this year! Ate em plain, covered some with chocolate and made strawberry syrup to help feed my pancake addiction. We also love to give away the "runners/cuttings" to friends as gifts once we have them stabilized in small pots (One of my friends planted his straight into the ground 2 years ago and now his backyard is absolutely covered 😆)

The local trails are absolutely covered in the spring and summer with more berries than the wildlife and humans can eat as well! I invite my friends over for hikes at this time of year to collect pounds of berries in less than an hour. My dog loves the extra walks and attention as well 😊

We also grow grapes in our backyard which have really done well this year

Trying #corn for the 1st time this year and it has gone quite nicely! Our friend gave us 6 baby plants and they are all producing at least 1 ear with minimal upkeep, hopefully, we'll turn this year's harvest into a much larger haul next year 😄

Finally, we always love to plant sunflowers to feed the local wildlife, along with ourselves, and enjoy their beauty! They naturally fit into our understanding of the Fibonacci sequence and are truly amazing to watch from start to finish.
#Sunflowerception "You mean there are #Flowers within the Flower!?!?"😳🤔

If you are still reading this thanks so much for checking out what we are able to grow/harvest locally here in #Maryland. I love to see what other folks are eating locally around the world please feel free to share or tag me in your posts. I hope everyone enjoys their summer and gardens, Cheers!
