The good thing about thai guava tree is that it sustained hard weather conditions and even fell down two times and in spite of that somehow it managed to grow well. During the first year of fruiting, the fruits were very big and tasty. These days the fruits are not that big but still tastes good.
For the past few weeks there was a complaint from our house maid saying that all the guava from the tree is just going waste. Yes we dont usually pluck the guava from the tree and leave them for birds and squirrel to eat. Most of the guava fruits are eaten by squirrel only.
We identified one more porblem after the harvest. The fruits have some insect problem. There is some insect penetrating inside in most of the ripened fruits. One of the reasons why we wanted to pluck it from the tree was because of these insects. Otherwise we would pluck one by one only when we are ready to consume it. The insect problem is only there in the ripened fruit. If the fruit is raw, the insect cannot penetrate inside so it will wait for the fruit to ripen.
We now have one more guava tree in the house and it has also started bearing fruits. It looks like that one is a red guava.
