I have BIG plans for my greenhouse this year!
First, it needs a good clean. Secondly, it requires remodelling. I am sick and tired of these two rows of compost. They are wide and it is difficult to work here. Instead, I want to get proper tomato pots, a wooden two-tier planter and some other pots. So if the weather is too hot, some of the plants could move outdoors. Also makes it easier to clean the glass inside.
Moving the soil
I began by moving the soil on the right to the concrete base at the back. Very quickly I run out of containers and the last bit went into an empty compost bag.
So now it looked empty and ready for some scrub. ⬇⬇⬇
In the process of shovelling, I found four larvae (possibly moths) and a green shield bug. The latter has lived in my greenhouse for years.
I put them all together and left some greens on the side. If you know what's best, let me know as I do not want to disturb these creatures.
Cleaning
I tend to clean the outer panels once a year. However, last year I was a bit lazy and only did one side. It really shows and it felt like scrubbing forever.
Filthy!!!
Now, what do you use for wiping and cleaning? In the past, I used a brush that seem to have scratched the panels, so this time I had a soft cloth which did a much better job. And I have also bought a spray solution.
- spray panel with water
- spray panel with a solution
- scrub panel with a cloth
- spray panel with water
For the inside, I have mixed white vinegar and water.
The result was spectacular! Although it did take a lot of time and elbow grease.
I also had a tiny friend flying around. I think this is it! Spring has arrived!
