I have to let them go...

Nature has that wish and I have to honor it.

Late February Garden Update.png

In the first week of this month, I never expected the winter to go away so soon, so I did my best to take care of the white inca plants specially, as this was my first time experience with them. Unfortunately, within 10 days, things changed, and the impact was clearly reflected on the plants, as these are seasonal.

I promised to show you the white inca, and here they are, but they did not grow as expected. The high imbalance in temperature brought heavy fogs, and these plants were severely impacted by that.

So disheartened by this, I decided to move all plants to the other side of the garden, so that, they will get less sunlight.

20250213_171745.jpg

Moving so many pots myself was difficult, to this time I decided to take some help.

20250215_085654.jpg

We have a place nearby where people come in search of work and this is the first time I went there. Finding the right person to do gardening, is not easy because everyone I talked to said, they will do whatever I say - but that does not work for garden. Someone should be experienced with garden work as they have to delicately move the plants, and it was no less then taking interview of some people about their prior experience with garden work.

Finally I found my man, Bhimsen, who said not only he is quite experienced, but he has all the tools that he can bring with him but charges would be more than what others demand. And he promised me to pay only if I am satisfied - that assurance confirmed the perfectionist in me that this is the man I am looking for. And I promised him as well - if he does the work good, then I will call him every time I need. He was quite fast to clean this area, after which, I put some left over plastic sheets (used during painting the house that was purposely kept for any use in future - we minimalist always think of any possible reuse) to prevent the grass coming often after it rains - this was my learning when I visited the nursery.

Bhimsen appeared to be quite skilled, doing a lot of work, more than expected so finally I have someone whom I can leverage to develop this big area.

It's impossible to control the growth of grass, and they bring insects with them, that damage the plant growth. I had to take some expert opinion, after showing these photos, will share that separately - learning never ends in gardening.

20250213_171957.jpg

Sunflowers are nicely coming up on their own - nature is on their side.

20250220_074558.jpg

I was quite relaxed to give the plants a better place expecting they would last till mid March, but then out of nowhere, rain and thunderstorm came in doing the damage and reminding me the fact that we can never go against it.

So they are not going to stay longer and I have to let them go - Good bye is not easy but that is what Nature wishes. However, I will still try to replant some all seasoned inca again - have put some seeds to grow saplings ( my fourth attempt, and still not giving up), we will see how it goes. And this year, I have also collected seeds of different varieties and preserving them in a better way, more to come on that....Never give up.....

At times, I think, this area can be full of flowers round the year - hopefully that will come true some day.

It shows that you love flowers and who can take care of them better than you. Don't worry some seasonal flowers wither with the change of season and they will grow again as soon as the weather is suitable for them.

That's the sad part of seasonal plants, you have to goodbye them... Indeed for gardening you need someone skilled, in happy you found a good person!

You are really doing a very great job every time maintaining your garden because I am so sure that you will be putting in a whole lot of effort every single time. It is not easy

It's hard to find a good gardener. I'm glad you found someone who is both good at his job and honest. Bhimsen seems like the kind of person who would do the job properly.

So sad... but it's the cycle of the nature, we can't do anything about that 😔 anyway I totally understand your words 💔

Yes, we can only rebuild.

@tipu curate

Really devastating, but we cannot control nature.

That is the important thing, friend, never get discouraged. Furthermore, those White Incas will be the coolest and also keep in mind that you will no longer carry out this task alone but that you have already found someone who knows and knows the care that must be taken when not only planting but also transplanting them.

Nice post with nice photography.
Good work done.

wonderful lot of beauties! :) so many pots! 😎🤙

I especially like all the orange ones.. and ye.. it takes much time and effort. that is life.. :)

Thoda bajot hame bhi support karava do

You can't fight nature my friend but take into account that you found the person who will help you get a better plantation of those White Incas, those Sunflowers are incredible I hope you could save some of those seeds and own more of those plants

I promised to show you the white inca, and here they are, but they did not grow as expected. The high imbalance in temperature brought heavy fogs, and these plants were severely impacted by that.

Exactly Sir, that is equally my observation. This year our flower segments also performed below expectations, which may be due to not having enough dew and erratic weather patterns. A distinct winter stretch is much needed for winter flowers.

we minimalist always think of any possible reuse

That is the ideal disposition. The path forward to sustainability is Reduce-Reuse-Recycle.

It's impossible to control the growth of grass

It's possible Sir. We use it in our paddy field, in fact, all farmers are aware of the particular pesticide that will kill only grass, if you want I will tell you the name, after consulting with my father. In our paddy field, we spray it homogenously, and it does not kill the paddy but it kills the invasive weeds and grass. ICAR has done a great job with this innovation and biotechnology.

Thank you.
