When the rainny season is going to come up with us, I haved made the best of my time to complete my work in Hong Hong garden before going back my hometown.

My mom lives here with my oldest brother. You may know that the living in the city is quite heated and bustling, most of the people in my town do not have time to grow and take care of their garden. To find out the space for mind, we obviously go to the coffee shop or some place in the mountains. I do not need to do that thing, why? Because I have a green finger mommmm, she herself designs and grow a lot of plants in her little garden. Gardening is her life, gardening is her passion, and gardening is the place that she continues to cultivate the life for the variety of species.

Let’s have a small tour to visit my mom’s garden. I believe that it will inspirate us more or less.

With only about 100 square metres, my mom tries to set up and put a lot of trees inside. It is not only the flowers, dear! My mom planted some fruit trees such as Jack-fruit, pomegranate, grapefruit, durian, avocado. Besides, she also loves to grow some decorative plants (rose mary, Coleus amboinicus Lour...), orchids, and vegetables for meals.

About the fruit trees. My mom grew the durian tree at first, then she picked up other trees to get the shadow for garden and produce fruit for family. It is also the place for some plants in the lowest level.

There is only one avocado tree grown since 4 years but it provides a lot of fruits for us when its season coming. In order to get the quality seedling, it took a lot of time to eat, collect and filter by my mom cause she is a perfect person on Earth, for sure. She would rather use more time to get the best than go through the motions.

My mom is a fan of Rose and orchid flowers. We lived in the highland, near the forest so finding the original orchids is just a piece of cake with the affordable price. To grow and take care of orchid easily, weather conditions is not only the main factor, my mom used some wood and coal and a little fertilizer to supply more nutrients for its roots. She collected a lot of spieces such as: Callista thyrsiflora (Thuỷ tiên vàng), Staghorn Fernn (cây ổ rồng), Rhynchostylis gigantea (cây nghinh xuân)…

The special plants here is Rose flowers, they bloom all the time in year, with the various of colors . They said taking care of Rose is very hard, but it is opposite to my mother, she does not use any technical way to make it grow fast. As usual, she makes the soil, adds some cow dungs and supply the water 2 times a day. Besides, she also cultivates other flowers such as daisy, Red Butterfly Wing, hibiscus, lavender and so on.

Rose Mary in her garden is about 4 years old, from the only one tree, she cut the branches and planted them in the basins, then now there are 4 basin of Rose Mary living in her garden. Next, she grew Plectranthus hadiensis var tomentosa too, from one tree, she did the same things with Rose Mary and now she has over 20 trees of it. The thing I love in those trees is the essential oil and its fragrance from the leaves.

This year, my mom bought some seeds of Asparagus officinalis to sow for the trial. Wonderingly they germinated and be developed so fast until now. Each weeks, my mom can cut 5 – 6 asparagus for her meals. She really loves it.

Besides, she grows salads, onion, coriander and some vegetables for my oldest brother. He often comes home from work late at night and cook instant noodle with salads.

I have no doubt when saying that my mom has a green finger. She gardens from her passion without any tired feeling. She can spend all her time a day to live with garden, connect with them and share the feeling, the vibe together.

If my mom lived nearby she would be best friends with yours! What an incredible amount of plants of all kinds.
I like fruit and aromatic plants so I would also pay her a visit haha.
Those avocados I love and the rosemary silver is huge!

wow, it turns out there are durian and grapefruit there. the same as in my country, Indonesia. Your mother's garden is beautiful, glad to see it. I hope mom stays healthy and can continue to plant according to her hobby, as well as you.

Oh I am so glad to know that you come from Indonesia. Last week, my friend took a 10 day tour to visit Indonesia, he came back and told me a lot of story of his journey. He complimented your country a lot, especially the volcano and landscape. By the way, thank you so much for such a pretty word about my mom's garden ^_^ I would love to meet you in Indonesia if I can take a trip next year.

thank you and I take it as a compliment to my country. I admit my country is very beautiful. wonderful Indonesia, for a biodiversity landscape with thousands of islands and mountains. Do not miss the various cultures. I hope your wish to visit here is fulfilled. ;)

Wow! good job and thumbs up for your mom. She really did well for planting those fruit trees and now her family is enjoying the fruits. Having fruit trees will make you save because you don't need to buy that fruit in the market. You can save and you can have it very fresh.

Thanks for sharing it with us @tuocchu.

I really loved your mother's garden! And the photos were so beautiful! Congratulations!👏👏👏👏🤗😍🌺🌹🪴

well done in Vietnam, my wife is vietnamese and they love to grow fruits and veggies whereever possible

Woow. Do you know where is her town in Viet Nam?😄 May be we are the neighbourhood lol. The weather condition in Vn is quite perfect for fruits and vegetable, i think.

Lovely garden with so many "power" plants - Aloe vera, avocado, rosemary, and hibiscus and only some that I adore.
You mentioned rosemary oil... Rosemary is one of m favourite herbs, and I will try to make the oil sometime.
It's wonderful to have all that available, and I'm sure it's fulfilling for you and your mom to nurture and take care of the plants:)))

Much appreciated @millycf1976. I am so surprised when I heard that you are a fan of herbs, rosemary and so on. Actually I do not know why my mon can take care of them perfectly like that, she is over 60 years old and she is often sick. Somehow I think the nature has a good sense with us and my mom personally. Whenever she feels tired, she does not rest, she goes to the garden and takes care of them, when she goes back the house, she is better right after. Haha. It is what I call the weird thing I cannot explain.
