Hello Creative people,

Welcome to 365 Draw A Day Drawing Challenge. A drawing challenge that aims to enjoin participants to create on a regular basis and thus help improve their skills. Today, my drawing is

Perfect Together

Despite the colors, size or shape these two come together and bring harmony. Perfectly complementing each other and working towards a common goal which is to provide the needed nutrition

Here is how I made my drawing

image.png
Early on I want to make a carrot in this color after seeing one on a tutorial cooking video. We do not have this or maybe I have not seen one with this color in real life. Creating the shape of the carrot was easy and below I have the pieces of leaves to put on top of it.

image.png
I made each individual piece and later on will put them together as one and will change the color to green.

image.png
The leaves or what looks like stalks here I created with random shapes. Here I am showing how I was finding the right position for each piece so they would look like the carrot top

image.png
This is the shade of green that I chose to match the pale purple of the carrot.

image.png
After deciding on the green color I had to pick one shade lighter and one shade darker for it so the stems would have a depth and won't appear flat. The darker stem I had to push backwards and the lighter one in front. This would give an idea on where the light source would be coming from.

image.png
I then grouped all the pieces together so I can easily tilt them in one go while looking for the right angle or position. I also had started creating the orange carrot here.

image.png
I am trying to balance both images here. The short purple carrot took the long green stems and the slender orange carrot had a short green top. They kind of balance each other now.

image.png
Now that the angles and sizes of the carrots finalized, it is time to add some finishing touches like the light and shadow. Here I am showing I picked a darker shade of purple which will be used to create the shadow.
image.png
I used the crayon brush and dabbed it on the right side of the carrot to create a texture and shadow. Then chose a much lighter version of the said color to become the highlight. Same goes with the green top.

image.png
I had to be careful dabbing my brush to avoid making solid blotches but it was a challenge. I just kept dabbing until this muddy look happened and I like it.

image.png
I brought the two images closer together because there was an awkward space in between them.

I do not want a white background but I was having a struggle choosing the background color that would work for my palette.
