Greetings, wonderful Asean Hivers! I want to share with you all one of the greatest experiences I've ever had today. The first Yecyec Family reunion took place at the Duka Bay Resort in Medina, Misamis Oriental. My aunt organized the first reunion, which we are happy that has happened and was a lot of fun.
It was a two-day celebration to meet our legendary relatives and my childhood relatives, who I used to play with when I was younger but we never got to see each other again until this family reunion was made possible.
Due to his legendary Yecyec ancestry, my father would be overjoyed to be at this Yecyec family reunion if he were still alive. However, it is very sad that he passed away two years ago.
The Yecyec family traveled from various parts of Mindanao, including Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Kitaotao Bukidnon Province, Linabu Bukidnon, and our oldest brother traveled all the way from Manila, to attend the reunion.
We left Cagayan de Oro at three in the morning, arrived in Medina at seven, and our relatives from Libona, Bukidnon, arrived at eight. They brought some food, and we began eating breakfast with them. A few hours later, other Yecyec families from other parts of Mindanao also arrived.
The program proceeded to continue on to introducing everyone one by one so that we could all know each other's names. Since the venue is a white sand beach resort, we also went swimming. The kids enjoyed swimming in the beach all day because it's summer and the best time to go swimming.
When the parlor games began, everyone was ecstatic. My team, which I coached for the longest line of kids' parlor games, won and split the 500 peso prize into five individual awards of 100 pesos each.
I am delighted that I finally got to meet and form bonds with my relatives, some of whom I do not know well and some of whom it has been almost ten years since we last spoke. The majority of them are now married, while I am still a single mother.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my post today, and I hope to see you in my next one. I always enjoy sharing my wonderful experiences with the @asean.hive community.
