This might be one of the weirdest content I'll ever going to make. I bet you won't expect me to do a blog on this kind of topic but I would like to share this collection I have acquired ever since I went Vegan and how it changed my life and my eating habits.
When I went vegan, I see a lot of posts on Instagram about healthy bowls and I also wanted to recreate myself. I ended up buying a ceramic bowl first but I felt that it was too big. I bought another one and it was too deep but I used it anyway.
When we went to Vietnam with my friend Ar-ar, I saw a store that sells coconut bowls but it has designs. I was looking for some plain coconut bowls but unfortunately, it was not available so I ended up buying the one with designs.
A few months after that, Ar-ar moved to Cambodia for a job opportunity, and one time she went to the market and she saw these wooden bowls sold by the street she sent me a message and let me choose from the bowls. She got me one and it was my favorite bowl up to date. It's unique. The shape is perfect. Most of the oatmeal, smoothie, fruit bowls posted in my IG were plated on this bowl.
When my friend Kate, went to Bali, Indonesia for a vacation she also asked me what do I want as a gift aka pasalubong. I told her, I want a coconut bowl. When she arrived she handed me a paper bag with a pouch of granola and a coconut bowl which made me so happy.
My friend and cousin also gave me coconut bowls with designs when they went to Thailand separately. They both know how I loved making breakfast bowls and how much I use coconut or wooden bowls so it is only appropriate for them to give me gifts like this. My cousin also included some dried strawberries which were really useful in my smoothie bowls.
When we were about to open Anahaw, I found 2 suppliers of acacia bowls here in Cebu,
Barkin' Bowls and
Raspberry Girl. Raspberry Girl is actually owned by a friend but both of them sent some samples for me to check personally. But we ended up getting the one my friend offered. Not being bias but her products are even better than the other one. Both bowls are made from acacia but we choose the sturdy one.

Now I have a lot of coconut and wooden bowls in my house but I rarely make breakfast bowls now. This is really sad but oftentimes I use it when I make curries and other dishes that are best served in bowls. I also have some wooden plates and I would like to add more soon. I feel like wooden dinnerware is very sustainable and looks good on the table. Do you also like wooden, sustainable, and eco-friendly dinnerware?
PS. I have been following @anggreklestari for a while now and I got inspired of showing my collections of bowls after reading several blogs of her showing the glasses and plates she purchased for her food photography which is by the way is really amazing!
