Sometimes, we witness other people doing a particular activity like it was easy as pie, which triggers how we also want to involve ourselves. But honestly, doing something for the first time can be challenging and complex. And this is what I experienced when I tried making a flower arrangement for my grandfather's tomb.
It was both an honor and a challenge to me because I have no background in doing it, especially with flowers that were bought expensively. I only knew how to play with wildflowers around the house when I was still a kid, though our family trusted me into doing it anyway because they were all busy doing other things too. And I could not say no to an answer and started it despite not knowing what to do first.
My Mama bought flowers for the market, particularly in a flower shop where different varieties of flowers are sold. She said it took her minutes to decide what to buy, but she became more practical, choosing flowers at low prices. But on regular days, they are still expensive for me. After purchasing, the sales lady made sure to cover the flowers to avoid having problems traveling them back home. We got Maroon, White, and Yellow flowers my Mama chose for my grandfather's tomb since we would visit him that day.
When my Mama got home, she told me to arrange them, so I did. At first, I was thinking of different designs and styles, but she told me to make it simple because it might maximize my time arranging them and be late for the planned time to go to the cemetery. I divided the three first while brainstorming since I wanted to get everything right.
When I knew what to do, I started cutting some of the flowers' damaged leaves and excess stems for a more accessible arrangement in the basket. The one that my Mama bought was a bit small, so I had to make a creative approach to how to put the flowers in there without ruining the watered foam and its formation. It was challenging at first, but when I got the momentum to do it, everything went in harmony, and I got it done early.
They all loved the outcome of my flower arrangement, even though it was simple like my Mama told me to do. I also appreciated how they complimented what I did, knowing I did it for the first time. It may need to look more elegant and attractive, but I still acknowledge my effort.
I salute everyone who makes flower arrangements during special events and occasions. It was a challenging thing to do, as it would require your patience and creativity. Overall, it was a great experience, and there will be more chances to practice my flower arrangement skills. I could do better soon.
I cannot express how thankful I am to those who have taken the time to read what I have written today. Your support means everything to me. Please acknowledge the sincere thanks I feel for each and every one of you. I hope to see you on my next blog and look forward to it!
