Who would’ve thought that a fragile, very thin and sickly-looking person like me will enter the world of Uniform service. Hello! My name is Diana, I’m 36 from the small province of Bohol, Philippines and this is my story.
I am a graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education, a journey that has not been easy, but one that has shaped who I am today. Life has always been challenging for me, as I come from a broken family, and growing up in such circumstances has made survival a constant struggle. Despite the obstacles, I never allowed these difficulties to break me or derail my dreams. And then, I became a Contract Teacher.
Since I am not a regular teacher, my salary is not fixed or consistent, which makes it even more difficult to manage my finances. The lack of a stable income has been a constant challenge, especially when it comes to budgeting for daily needs for me and my siblings.
That’s when I came upon the hiring in the Jail Bureau. Though hesitant at first, because never in my wildest imagination to be working in such environment. And then, I tried. I became a Jail Recruit. Days and months of vigorous training, tears and sweat mixed with body pains makes you think of quitting! Many sleepless nights thinking about my siblings left at home. And through determination and the willingness to make my life a little comfortable, I survived!
Right now, I am an active member of the Jail Bureau. Striving to make a difference for our clientele through the welfare and development program. I am so happy doing community service and anything I could offer. I am also thankful to @aseanhivecommunity for giving me the opportunity to be part of this platform. To meet new people and to tell our story.
