It was in 2022 when the extension was done. The style of the house is bungalow. When it was finally finished that year, we celebrated thanksgiving as well as my mother’s birthday. We chose a catering service. Of course, there’s always a traditional lechon (roasted pig) in every celebration. Our guests were enjoying the foods but they love lechon more.
When we paid this house, it only had three bedrooms. Currently, it has four rooms and patio as we decided to make it from in to end. The carpenters dealt with 300,000 pesos package for extension, not including the materials, painter, electrician, gardener, plumber and the doors. I was pregnant when this house was extended.
It was exciting to buy the materials at the hardware. Citi is the best hardware here that provides a long and lasting quality of the materials, even if the prices are costly. Tiles are expensive, but we still chose the goodlooking tiles. Marble tiles are expensive, so we picked the standard design.
In Citi hardware, there are durable ornaments for the house such as lampshades, chandelier, doorbells, , solars, appliances, tiles, mirrors, trashcans, shelves, cabinets and appliances.
There are also designs of shower, bathtubs, kitchen countertop and islands, sink, chairs, LED lights, solar, materials for painting the house, set of tables, marble tiles and other kinds of tiles, brakes,jacuzzi, cements, electric materials and more.
My mother decided to tile our entire floor from behind the house up to the the gate. The entire yard is also roofed that no heated sun and rain can enter.
Men that installed our gate were different group that only has an expertise to construct it and then paint. Cost of the gate and fencing is 100,000 they demand on negotiation because gate is added. Some neighbors don't have a man gate.
The people that also painted the house were different. For the expensive paint, they negotiated 20,000 pesos not including the materials. The expenses for the material depends on every house owner. If the house owner likes a to just buy the expensive paints, price ranges to 40,000. However, my mother had negotiated the cheap painter for only 7,000 pesos. The materials are not included but she made sure that those are the cheaper one. The painter finished in painting the walls and ceiling for seven days, but, the outcome isn't messy a bit.
We also hired an electrician we paid for 12,000 pesos. Aside from the ceiling lights attached, the electrician carefully installed the chandeliers, the LED at the ceiling, the aircons, the ventilator and the doorbell.
In the living room, we put the white shelves with the tv in between. We also put the ornaments such as the ceramic white vases, books and artificial flowers. At the corner is the study table where the printer and laptops are put on. There are the LED lights at the corner of the ceiling that changes it's color from blue into purple and from purple into red. I love watching movie with coffee while while the red light is switched ON.
Landscape also costs 15,000 pesos. When my mother negotiated the gardener, I greatly opposed her plan because we can do it, but she opted to continue the deal. 15,000 is quite expensive for a small garden like what we have. Outside the gate is the only tiny land we have where we gather all the soil from every vehicle that passes by.
We also spent 10,000 pesos each for the wooden door, plus, the labor fee. Because it is only our relative that attached the door, that price was begged. If it’s not our relative, we would spend 15,000 pesos in each door for sure, plus the labor.
Building a house can be tiring too because you are always nervous of the expenses, but when you realize that it is the outcome of your hard work, it is like seeing your saved money. Seeing the fruit of your hard work is rewarding, even if you spent a lot of money just to have the property you want and the kind of home design you dreamed about. Buying a house and lot property and beautifying it is a wise decision because your money are not gone in the air. In the future, you can use it in case of emergency.
