They say that when you buy a second hand cloth, the soul of the owner might be following you! How true is it? Well, I know it’s just a joke!
Dear friends,
My mother and I went to a thrift shop on Monday since the kids were in their school. Mostly, they sell ukay-ukay with cheapest prices in the world. Ukay-ukay is a Filipino language that means imported used clothes. However, the clothing fabric is thicker that we cannot find on brandnew. The clothes with a comfy fabric are mostly hanged in hangers which price ranges from 50 pesos until 250. 35 pesos below are put on a table. 35 pesos is a good amount for quality clothes in Ukay-Ukay. Mostly, it is the mothers that like to buy Ukay-Ukay and I am one of them.
There are bedsheets, underwears, cap, hat, towels, facetowel, handkerchief, bags, shorts, pants, cargo pants, denim pants, blouses, teeshirts, dresses, teeshirts, sweaters, children’s clothes, apron, stuffed toy, curtains, tv covers and sofa. Even these aren’t expensive , some people can still beg the price to lower more. Before they display it, they spray it a chemical that kills germs and viruses.
In this table are the white teeshirts and blouses that only cost 25 pesos. The woman measured the white teeshirt she picked, but later that, she added another blouse. When you have 100 pesos, you can buy 4 clothes. When you only have a hundred peso on brandnew clothes, you can just buy one. 100 pesos down to 79 is the cheapest price of brandnew at the mall, but the quality is like, you’re throwing your money away because of the bad stitches, a common style and a thin fabric. Personally, I prefer to buy an ukay-ukay because their styles are unique that no one wears the same. You look expensive behind the small money you paid. It can be deceiving. Some of the Filipino celebrities have even worn Ukay-Ukay at their Galas, balls and other shows.
The prices of the assorted Tshirt in colors costs 50 pesos. It is very enticing to shop here as they have plenty of displays to pick. No doubt why this store has a lot of customers. While I was taking pictures, my baby was left in a car because I don’t want her to be in a crowded place.
This is a cute dress for my niece that costs 25 pesos only. It has a little stain, but can be removed with zonrox. However, there are many choices displayed. I didn’t buy it because there are prettier than this. It looks old and used a lot, but will be new looking surely after bleached with detergent powder and bleaching agent. I was exploring online to look for clothes with the same style, and the price there is three times expensive.
These mothers were confused which clothes to buy for their babies because there were many beautiful and stylish designs. I heard them saying, “she will surely look so pretty in it,” while the other woman says, “I think it’s better than that.” Wow, what a selfless love of a mother! They didn’t buy clothes for themselves but only for their kids.
.
Do you buy ukay2x for yourself? How about for your kids? Anyway, bye for now because I have a lot of things to do such as cooking her food, feeding the dogs, mopping the floor and laundry. Thanks for reading.
