Yesterday, we were so happy that there was a water they brought door to door. We gathered all of our containers. The plastic containers of my baby’s distilled water are reused. These plastic containers have helped us a lot to save water. The lesson here is to keep the recyclable trashes because they will be used in the future. We should also save our waters even if no drought because everybody is using it and our population is increasing day by day. Every drop of the water is precious.
Water Affected Rice Production
Everyone was taking a bath yesterday and washed the clothes. After that, we went to the rice barns to buy sacks of rice. My mother had started her business to sell sacks of rice because every person needs it. We Asians can’t live without it. Even if the table is plenty of foods, our tummy still seeks a rice because we used to eat it since we were babies. Because it is our daily need, it is wise to make it a business. First, we went to a nearby barn so we could ask a cheaper price of 50 kilograms rice on one sack. Unfortunately, their cashier was absent. The caretaker didn’t know the price.
Inside the barn are the sacks of rice piled up and rice mill. They deliver these sacks at the stores, malls and in every household that are their old customers. It was just so unlucky that we forgot it was Sunday, that they didn’t have their employees.
Their cashier left her lists of customers to be delivered the rice. They have a lot on the list. Of course, because everyone needs it excluding the other countries who are not used to it. The owner of this barn is one of the richest people here in Butuan. In fact, he always gather poor people every Christmas at his house and give them money. There was a time when the thieves tresspassed his house, but he just gave his money calmy and happily. The theives just left like a normal person who left his home.
Because we could not buy rice at that barn, we looked for another rice mill. We went to the nearby barangay of Taligaman. Sadly, they closed their barn as they could not grind rice because there is no water. I can’t believe that the farmers also need water to process a fine rice. Water is really important in all aspects. The farmer businesses are massively affected in El Nino.
How about your place? Is it raining there?
