Happy weekend, Hive friends! Are hope you are safe and healthy. I sincerely pray for those affected by the recent earthquake in the Philippines - those in the Mindanao areas.🙏🦋 Praying for healing and recovery and peace for everyone.🥹
Anyway, I recently wrote something about the recent out-of-town trip I had with my family. Here it goes:
Hey, Boracay.
I wrote you in my 'dream journal' last 2013, along with lots of other places I wanted to visit when I get a job and decent money to travel. It may have taken a decade to finally cross you off my "bucket list", but dare I say you were worth the wait. You, Boracay, were a dream come true - I not only experienced what you had to offer but moreso I got to travel with my family, which was pretty wild. The phrase "malayo pa, pero malayo na" would be the best caption for this trip. Growing up we didn't have much material and financial stuff but now we are able to travel as a family and enjoy life together. (Who would have thought..) I am deeply grateful to God for His hand upon our family and all the big and little wins we get to experience - from the mundane day-to-day to this epic out-of-cebu get-away.
Thank you for the core memories with you, Boracay. You were just as what the postcards paint about you, only a lot less sunny because the gray clouds enjoyed gracing us with its presence haha. Indeed you are breathtaking what with your fine sand, never-ending shoreline, crystal clear water, beautiful corals, and the gorgeous sunset no one can get used to even if we see it for a millionth time. How the sky is painted with colours beyond the rainbow schemes is purely jaw-dropping. To say it was majestic would be an understatement.
As what my niece said, you are an "island that never sleeps". Even in the wee hours of the night, people - tourists and locals alike - still abuzz with so much activities, parties and lots of food trips with dancing and singing. Speaking of dancing - we were like "whoa!" with all these talented people's fire dancing. Some mad skills right there. It was both entertaining and exhilarating to watch. Thank you to the cafés and restaurants that fed us during our short & sweet stay. What a joy to have the privilege to experience you, Boracay!
Thank you, again, so much, for the memories I got to make in your splendor, Boracay. You have been generous with us. Until the next time you set your sails - oh, I will be there, you'll see. Sea you when I see you! 🌊 (Sea what I did there.)
