Happy Monday Hivers!
The dark surrounding; the rough and muddy road; and the creepy sound from the bamboo trees are the reasons why I decided to go home. We got lost on a Friday evening. The google map leads us to wrong direction.
Will I still trust to google map? What happened to us on a Friday evening?
It was Wednesday morning when I messaged my friend about the place I wanted to visit. It is somewhere in Dauin, Negros Oriental. By the way, Dauin is a well-known municipality in Negros Oriental that has many water activities including scuba diving.
Since she was free on a Friday night, we both agreed to have our dinner at La Tortue Diving Center. She made a reservation so we can avail the promo they posted on their FB Page.
We hit the road at around 7:00PM, our estimated time of arrival would suppossedly be at 7:25 however, we got lost. As we arrived in the coastal area, We both knew that we were close to the resort because of La Tortue's signage however, we were confused which road to take because at the intersection, we saw the La Tortue's signage where there was an arrow pointed to the left but the google map's arrow pointed to the right. We followed the latter. Sigh!!
I started to hold tightly to my friend's back as we crossed the muddy, dark, and creepy road. When we reached under the lush bamboo trees, I started to panick because it was really dark and the only source of light that illuminated on the pathway was the light coming from my friend's motorbike.
I decided to go home but my friend did not agree. She was right when she told me that we shouldn't give up because we're already in Dauin. Knees were already trembling because we were both uncertain to the place. There were many what ifs at the back of my mind.
We went further until we saw the lights coming from the construction site, a few construction men were spotted who were busy doing their task. We asked them how to get to La Tortue's Diving Center, fortunately they lead us to the right direction and to our surprise it was just few meters away from the construction site. Finally, we were able to locate the place
Welcome to La Tortue's Diving Center!!!
The restaurant will immediately capture the guest's attention upon entry because it is the first native building erected near the main gate. It was made of bamboo and nipa. We directly went there to order foods and drinks.
The service crew was immediately handed their menu as we arrived. I didn't waste my time to check what's on their menu, I just asked their best seller pizza. They recommended the Cabana Mama Pizza, without any doubts I ordered it. My friend ordered her favorite drink, a glass of Margarita but I didn't order drink for myself because the 1 round pizza has a free glass of wine.
While waiting for my friend, this low sugar cookies caught my attention, they maybe prepared these for the guests who don't love sweets.
The resort was not bustling that night, there were only few guests around. Well, it's nice because the surrounding was peaceful.
As we hiked to beach we saw nipa huts around the compound. It's just simple and small.
I know this area has a nice view in the morning because it is facing to the beach hmmmm maybe expensive compared to the other nipa huts around the compound because of its nice location.
If you're a thalassophile there's an unexplainable feeling that will automatically hit you if you can see beach.
I quickly went down and took off my shoes. As usual, it made me happy after I hit my feet on the sand.
Although it was cloudy that night and the moon did not fully came out but it was still beautiful.
I always miss my mother's hometown everytime I am in the beach. I miss those times where my friends and I do stargazing on a friday and saturday night. It was just simple yet beautiful memories.
It was a wonderful night chatting with friend, taking photos, sharing wonderful memories during childhood days.
We didn't notice the time because we enjoyed sharing different stories until the Manager informed us that it's already 10:30 in the evening and we can't stay beyond that time. Although we still wanted to stay longer but it's their policy, so we got up and left the area.
It was just a simple night yet a memorable one.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
