Happy Sunday Hivers!
The normal heartbeat goes up and down, and when the line is straight, it is already lifeless; that is also the same as life. We can't call it life if there are no challenges, struggles, and happiness. As humans, it is normal to face them in whatever forms they may take. Similar to my previous years of existence, my life this year is like a roller coaster, full of challenges and struggles, but I would be a hypocrite if I were to say I never felt happy this year. Although there are lots of challenges, I still find happiness despite those struggles. I have become better this year than in those previous years.
Today, I want to share on Hive what I usually do before the year ends. I wanted to welcome the new year with a clean and organized home, so first, I watered the only plant inside the house. My elder sister is not fond of plants, that's why this is the only plant inside. I noticed that it was getting pale, so I brought it outside and watered it. I also left it outside for a few minutes so the plant could get proper sunlight.
I cleaned the house first before organizing things. My mother used to tell us, when we were just kids, that we should keep the house tidy and organized before the new year comes. That statement always reminds me until this time.
After I finished cleaning and organizing, I brought the plant inside. It already looks nice and healthier.
After cleaning downstairs, I remembered we had a broken mirror upstairs. I don't want to keep broken stuff at home, but since my sister doesn't want to dispose of it, I just transferred it to another room. We have an empty room at home since my other siblings are not here, so I just transferred it there.
After cleaning the house, I did the laundry. I washed my clothes, blanket, and so on, so I don't have dirty clothes inside the house. I don't know if you also have the same practice as ours.
After I finished everything, I went to the kitchen and cooked biko. Actually, this is not part of my usual routine, but recently, I have been cooking kakanin most of the time; that's why I decided to cook something sticky.
That's what I usually do before the year ends. How about you? What are the usual preparations you make in welcoming the new year? I wish everyone a fruitful 2024.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
