Hello everyone. Two posts ago, I introduced 2 temples in Chai Prakan District to everyone. And in this post I will introduce another temple in Chai Prakan District. The district has many temples and the majority of people are Buddhist. And it is a district close to the district where I live. Therefore, me and my wife can travel to this district often when we have the opportunity and free time. The temple that I will introduce and take everyone to see today is called Wat Chim Phliwan. There is no information on when this temple was built, but the temple received permission to be established as a temple in A.D. 1915 (108 years ago).
Wat Chim Phliwan is located in Mae Tha Lob Subdistrict, Chai Prakan District, Chiang Mai Province, as is Wat Dong Chim Phli. Thehe two temples are approximately 1.8 kilometers apart. And both temples are temples that I don't know and have never been to. Me and my wife happened to see Wat Chim Phliwan, after we visited Wat Dong Chim Phli. (The temple I recommended in yesterday's post).
Wat Chim Phliwan is a larger temple than Wat Dong Chim Phli. This temple is located in a village area, but Dong Chim Phli Temple is located in the area of a village farm. When we arrived at this temple, the front area was a playground for people in the village to exercise. And there are many big trees.
Near the entrance to the temple there is a name plate of this temple. The name plate is made from bricks plastered with cement.
The name plate of the temple and the atmosphere of the village road in front of the temple.
The entrance arch of the temple is made of simple wood.
When me and my wife walked into the temple, we see the beautiful buddha image hall (viharn) of the temple first. This buddha image hall (viharn) is built from bricks plastered with cement like other temples, decorated with color gold and green Lanna style stucco patterns. The front wall above the doors of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with oil paintings of buddhism. And on the railing of the stairs leading up to the buddha image hall (viharn) are two serpent statues.
Beside this buddha image hall (viharn) is the temple's bell tower. Around the bell tower there are several lion statues.
Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) is a pagoda. The pagoda is made of cement plastered bricks, painted white and top with color gold. This pagoda is a polygonal pagoda with a bell-shaped top. The foundation has stairs leading up to the pagoda. And on the railing of the stairs are two serpent statues.
Most of the area of the temple is a wide courtyard. And the area wide courtyard also has many buddha statues and trees.
In addition, there are two pavilions. Inside the pavilions are buddha statues, the monks' houses and the multi-purpose building.
Finally, I’ll go on to share about the atmosphere on the countryside road in Chai Prakan District on the way home. Which is the farm atmosphere of the local villagers.
These are the stories and photos of Wat Chim Phliwan I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
