Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. There is another small rural temple in Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province that I would like to share with friends. This temple is called Wat Nantiyaram. This trip was just me and my wife. This temple is about 71 kilometers from our house. And it took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to this temple. These are some of the views from the house to the temple.
Of course every time we visit the temples. I like the beautiful of the art in each temple and also the stories and information of each temples. Before I share the atmosphere in the temple. So I like to search and read information about temples I visit. And this is brief information about Wat Nantiyaram.
Wat Nantiyaram is a common monastery in the local Thai community, a rural community in Thung Khao Phuang Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District. This temple was allowed to be established as a temple in AD 1932 or 93 years ago. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 2014 or 11 years ago.
Wat Nantiyaram sign.
This temple is the temple among nature. In front is the community area of the village. But behind and beside the temple is the farms area with nature. And in the temple there are many trees.
The temple's architecture and sculptures are mostly made in the Northern Thai art style (Lanna art). When my wife and I entered the temple. We saw the buddha image hall (viharn) first. This buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and painted white. The front, doors and windows of the buddha image hall (viharn) are decorated with stucco patterns in the Northern Thai art style. In addition the area in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with oil paintings. And the entrance staircase has 2 serpent statues.
There is a statue of a monk in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) too.
The second architecture that I will take friends to see is the ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and painted white. Decorated with stucco patterns but the pattern is different from the buddha image hall (viharn). And the entrance staircase has 2 serpent statues as well. In addition the ordination hall (ubosot) will have a low wall surrounding the ordination hall (ubosot). And there is a beautiful arch in front.
The third architecture of this temple, I took my friend to see the pagoda. The base of this pagoda is square, with stairs leading up on only one side. I think the shape of the lower and middle of this pagoda is shaped like a lotus base. And the top shape of the pagoda is in the shape of many bells with tierred umbrella.
Behind the temple is a buddha image covered with a yellow cloth. This buddha image is in a small wooden pavilion.
Finally I took you to see the bell tower of this temple. The bell tower is beautiful and different from other temples we have visited. And I think that this bell tower built the TaiYai art style. My wife and I love this bell tower.
In addition, There are other areas in the temple that I didn't take my friends to see, which are section containing the monks' living quarters and buildings for monks.
Wat Nantiyaram Trip We enjoyed the temple and had a new experience for our visit to the temple this time. Even though it is a small temple that is in a rural community and does not have much space. But this temple is another beautiful temple and we like this temple.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
