It's been weeks since it happened yet I am only writing about it now. The previous days were busy . Also at some point, intentionally, I chose to spend time with my little family. Husband was only here for a month's vacation and sadly he will be back abroad this Saturday 😩.
January 03, 2025 was the scheduled day. We intentionally held it on this day since it was a town fiesta. That means, preparing a lot of food isn't necessary. Days before the event, I prepared the souvenir. ; followed by the Candy cups.
The Preparation
Since it was only me who prepared most of the preparations, I ordered all I needed. Except the foods 😂
- Souvenirs - I settled on giving scented candles .
I posted it here and if you are interested, added the steps since I made this myself. Shops link to.
- Loot Bags - I opted for candy cups.
The same with souvenirs, this was made DIY and check it here if you like.
- Candles - there are so many choices online and I was even surprised upon seeing that you can have it personalized. Date of event, baby's name and picture. Thus, I chose the simple one, with ribbons for two reasons. One, it was cheaper, and second I don't like burning candles with my son's photos.
Small ones are for the Godparents and the bigger for us parents.

- Christening outfit - at first I was planning to use his cousin's clothes back then. However, upon trying it on him it was too small. Of course I love buying things for my son so I look for a set which he can still use after.
Clothes was from Shein and shoes bought at Shoppee.
- Backdrop - all materials were ordered online and also DIY.
The Christening
- A night before, my sister in law and nephew were already busy preparing the backdrop. There were lots of balloons that filled the room.
I was really thankful for their help as I am not confident with this. Might ended up printing a tarpaulin with welcome to Christian world.
- For the food, my brother-in-law was helping husband. We didn't cook much. They only prepared adobo, mechado (not sure), morcon, sweet and sour, and the last fried chicken. For dessert, we prepared letche plan and fruit salad. The perks of having inlaws that are talented in cooking. Hiring a chef is no longer needed.
- Cake was ordered from a local seller (a student).
It comes with six cupcakes.
Added six more so it would make a dozen.
- The church was here in the neighborhood yet due to incoming local elections, the baptism rites started later than the scheduled time. Politicians had speech first along with picture taking.
We have cold weather here but since it was crowded the temperature was hot. Babies started to cry, some of them. Thankful I bought Caleb's mini fan.
Finally, after performing the baptism rites along with seventeen babies, we are done. Unlike others, Caleb didn't cry as the priest poured holy water on his head. On the contrary, he felt relaxed. He was indeed well behaved.
After which, we had a picture taken along with his Godparents. Look at my hair 🤣. It was screaming for a salon. (I did last week, it look better now 😆)
We only had a few visitors. Some of the relatives are my college friends and my cousin.
My cousin and her husband at the left and my friends at the right.
They are all working in Manila yet they chose to spend time celebrating with us. I was greatly touched.
He got this walker as a gift from his Godmother, also her Tita. Husband's sister. Aside from that he got cash gifts which we deposited in his bank account. Yep, we open a Junior savings for him. Gift checks that we used to buy his milk 😆.
