It rarely happens that we celebrate a birthday together. Still, most of the time, he made an effort to surprise me even though he was miles away. He managed to pull out a family dinner in my recently. As luckily, this year, which was yesterday, January 25 he was able to celebrate with us. Sadly, it was also his flight back abroad, so we couldn't have even a simple party. Yet, to reciprocate all his efforts, secretly, I ordered a birthday cake for him. Not the usual as it was to make it extra special. Naruto design because he was indeed a fan! Supposedly, he wanted Caleb's christening cake with this design 🤣. I disagree yet noted to myself to give him one in- order to heal his inner child!
Thankfully, my sister-in-law was supportive as she was the one who ordered and picked it up.
Here I am, at past five in the morning, trying to surprise my other half. I took the cake at my mother-in-law's house, a few walks away, even though I was freezing due to the cold.
Was he happy? I know he was, but his expression is nonchalant. Besides, he got a hint because of mother-in-law. She woke up (she was sleeping in our house) and asked my husband where am I. She told him my indoor slippers were left at our doorstep 😂.
How couldn't he be happy With his dream cake and my precious gift to him in his arms? A, Caleb's favorite was indeed his Dad! He is always smiling when he is with him.
I should commend the seller! The husband loved it to the point that he called all the nephews to show them his cake! Yet, ended up they didn't know who is Naruto 🤣.
It comes with six pieces of delicious cupcakes!
Afterward, we ate our breakfast together as we still needed to head to the airport for his flight.
It was sunny as we traveled, which was good since I sat near the window. Looking at the raindrops every time I am traveling makes me sad.
Moments at the airport.
That was fast; his one-month vacation was over. It seemed like we were here yesterday to pick him up, yet now we will send him off. We still had four hours left, so we had our lunch. As for him, he could get free food at the OFW lounge.
However, we wanted to dine together. It's a good thing his flight was at Terminal 3; there are a lot of food choices on the second floor.
A stolen shot while he is holding our son for me to eat well. Enjoying the few moments left. After, although we don't like it, he has to go. The warm kisses and hugs before he walked to the immigration. I felt sad, but unlike before, I didn't cry. Perhaps it was because I had Caleb with me.
As for him, I know he would miss us terribly. Hoping that in the following years, he will be staying here for good.
I drafted this last January 26, yet I finished writing now. Since my husband went back abroad, I had a hard time taking care of our son. A day before his flight, he got his jab for pneumonia and polio. That made him fussy. Added that maybe he missed his Dad and their routines. He got cold and has been crying, especially at night. That gives me two days of sleepless nights. Thankful he feels better now.
