Last night and Bintulu

in #hive-1413593 days ago

I spend a couple of days in Bintulu during my short one-week holiday. This was the last night I was going to be spending in Bintulu. So how did I spend the night? It is the 14th of January 2025. 14 days into the year 2025.

First of all, I went to do some late-night window shopping to see if there was anything left to buy before heading back to Miri.

I went to check out some cute stuff at the shop.

We got some rabbit friends. Does anyone love rabbits?

These rabbits are stress-free squeeze things. Not sure what to call them.

Saw this cute little minion on the pony.

The Spring Mall at night

It was almost closing time but I was still excited to just walk around the mall here. One of the best things that I think is quite cool about the malls at Bintulu is the automated car plate readers in the mall. You can just drive in the automated gates and the camera gets your number plate and all those informtion.

Many shops were about to close but I was still here till the whole mall slowly closes for the night.

It was time to head home. Very strange mixed feelings. At times I wish the night never sleeps.

So I went back to the hotel

The view from the hotel. The building is still under construction and may need a bit of time before being completed done.

The car park

The restaurant next to the hotel was still opened but it was also about to close for the night.

And so I went to bed.

The next day I had to drive back to Miri. 2 and the half hours driving along the Pan Borneo Highway. One of the longest stretches of roads in the world.

Woke up and we had our breakfast

My usual cup of coffee.

The view driving along the roads on the island of Borneo. Blessed with the dense forest.

The natural beauty of the forest around Borneo

If you take a closer look, you can see the view of one of the world’s oldest cave system. It is the Niah Caves. Recently, Unesco heritage site.

While driving, I wanted to maybe visit a resort before heading back to Miri.

But unfortunately, Borneo Tropical Rainforest was closed.

I also needed a short toilet break.

My little duck wanted to have some photos taken too.

That was my trip to Bintulu. The next place that I am going to bring you is going to be short trip to Brunei. One of the least known places in the world.

Thank you for reading my post.
