Nasi Lemak - street style

in #hive-14135911 days ago

Malaysia is home to lots of street food. I was in Bintulu, Sarawak for a short trip from Miri. I went to try out the Nasi Lemak at this stall in the city area. First of all, the portion here at this shop is huge. After finishing everything, I felt super duperful. There are pictures of the Nasi Lemak, and you can decide whether those Nasi Lemak are delicious or not.

These are some of the stalls and we were there for this particular stall.

Mira Nasi Lemak stall

Nasi = Rice
Lemak = Oily

The oily rice is quite popular in Malaysia.

So many different types of stuff to choose from. You can choose the rice and then pick the different add-ons to the rice.

There is squid, fried chicken, beef, and many more. Each add-on is calculated after that. The rice of the Nasi Lemak dish is usually mixed with desiccated coconut to give it that aromatic smell.

The beautiful mosque along this road

Opposite of the stall is a mosque. A well-built mosque.

The main menu

You can order the main dish and add on the different side dishes like chicken wing, fried enoki room, and even clams.

The location of the stall from Google Maps.

The huge fried chicken wings. These chicken wings are huge.

One piece of fried chicken and you got a delicious meal. That one can last you for a while. They also have clams, prawns as well as fried peanuts. Anything that interest you?

The other stalls here

There are many other stalls here as well selling different types of food. The weather was quite nice with nice blue skies.

Despite this place being outdoors, the sellers managed to keep everything clean and neat.

What I got for myself?

Nasi Lemak with lots of add-ons and side dishes.

It took me a while before I finished everything on this plate. The fried chicken is called ‘Ayam Berempah’.

The next dish is known as the Soto. There is the noodles inside and meat balls inside. The meat ball in the bowl of soto is usually huge in size.

The other Nasi Lemak.

Flooded with lots of gravy. The gravy is an important component of this dish. It soaks into the rice and makes the rice super duper tasty.
