Hi hi.. it is me @luueetang and I hope that you are having a great Monday. While I was in Brunei, I had the chance to fly my drone above the majestic water village in Brunei. It is a legendary place. There is a whole village above water. There are schools, museums and houses. To get there, you can just hop on to one of those water taxis (boats) and hitch a ride to this village. It's quite an experience riding a boat and getting there.
The water village, Brunei
Shot on my DJI Mini SE drone. One of the most versatile drones out there.
One thing that is on my bucket list is to head over to the water village or the Kampong Ayer and record a walking tour. Before the pandemic, I hadn't picked up the hobby of vlogging until after that. This place is a must see to believe. Everything is built on top of waters.
Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge
This is a beautiful suspension bridge in Brunei that connects the main capital Bandar Seri Begawan with the villages on the opposite side. It's a beautiful drive to the opposite side. There are many stalls here that sell delicious local food.
The water village from above
One thing about flying drones is to buy a good drone that has a good built in GPS that is reliable. All DJI's connect to the satellite above so in any circumstances, it's going to fly back to the location where you original flew it from. It takes a bit of practise and calmness to fly a drone. There are networks of walkways. No worries, they are safe to walk on. There are some locals who are fearless and what do they do here, ride a bicycle on those narrow pathways.
Brunei is a modern country that protects the traditional
Somewhere in the picture above, you'll be able to spot a mosque that is above water. Imagine praying above waters. The toilet? I've been to one, a hole where when you take a dump, you'll see catfishes waiting for your bomb and they would be super happy to gobble them up.
Such a beautiful view
Brunei government protects at least 70% of it's forest. This is one country that plays an important role in the world. One of the crucial lungs of the world, other than Sarawak or Sabah.
Flying drones can be addictive
Once you get the hang of it, it feels euphoric to fly a drone. There are things to calculate, like distance from nearby buildings, how high your drone should be and is the area wide enough and with less buildings. The reception in Brunei from my drone remote to the drone is super duper. Sometimes, in Miri, I've had signal lost. Well, what to do? Just wait. It will come back. I trust my drone. Once it reaches certain distance from where your at after it gets lost in terms of signal, it will suddenly reconnect back once it is near you.
I hope that you enjoy reading this post. I have a goal. I have to write a post on Asean Hive every single day. At least post a couple of videos on my YouTube channel as well as reply to all comments whenever I can.
