Hello everyone! I’m Rachelle Faye Baggayan, but everyone who knows me calls me Faye. As a newbie here, I am excited to explore this platform and share with you lovely people some of my life experiences, knowledge, ideas, hobbies, and beliefs. I want to show you my world and see everything in it through my eyes and my words. I want to share my excitement and joy as well as the lessons I learned the hard way. I want to share with you the reasons I smile, stories untold of struggles and fears I have conquered and to gain friends whatever part of the world we live in. I hope you follow me along and help me create a safe space for publishing my journey of life.
About Me
I am a humble and quiet person enjoying the tranquility of simple living. I was born in a Barrio, a rural village where almost everyone knows one another. My big sister and I was raised by our Aunts and Grandparents because our Parent’s work was located in the City 2 hours away. But after a while they took us to live in the City with them. We still frequently go back there every Christmas and Summer vacation as is our tradition to this day.
I graduated college with a degree of Business Administration and joined the work force soon after. I wanted to give myself the proficiency needed to advance quickly in my career, so in order to do that I earned my Master’s degree while being employed but I was far from studious, I enjoyed life as it is. I like to mingle with a few friends, and exchange silly antics that we do when we encounter something new in the workplace. I am quite selective of the people I choose to be around with. I choose quality over quantity. That is all you will need, friends who you have no trouble showing your true self.
I am a fan of fiction books, I love reading Mysteries, Romance, Fantasies, Mythical Adventures and stories based on historical figures and places. I enjoy letting my mind paint the picture of the faces and places that the books take me. I feel at ease when I read, I picture myself as the invisible character who hears and sees all that the characters do. I treasure hunting for novels at the bookstore and then go home to look it up to see if it is available to be read on-line.
After a few years I got employed at another agency and got assigned in the Barrio where I was born. I liked how simple and quiet life was over there. I liked being fussed over by my Grandparents even at that age. My “Lola” is a very religious person and she cultivated values in me that helped me overcome so many challenges later in my life. My “Lolo” on the other hand was the reason I got into mischievous acts as a kid. His attitude towards life taught me that whatever you’re going through, everything will run its course. So there’s nothing to do but to let it carry you and learn to be resilient. Laugh in the face of trouble, smile in the face of adversaries. Take it easier on yourself, “Let Go and Let God” as they say. Yes, I’m that girl. Full of positivity. Everything was all about fun and giggles and playfulness- which I am grateful for because it taught me to balance my life and not be consumed by the pressures of society.
Fast forward to present day, I became a wife, and a mom of two wonderful kids. Taking care of my own family and our home means letting go of my office career. This is my passionate side, I am willing to let go of a decade’s worth of service, stable income, and great friends I gained over there. My logical side though has a practical financial remedy. I pursued the world of virtual opportunities, and became an ESL teacher.
This is my newest adventure; the most rewarding job I had ever taken. The Lord indeed is so great, words cannot express the gratitude I feel for having a suitable lifestyle where I get to have a new career, a decent salary and the best part: I get to enjoy raising my kids with my loving husband. I may be a little shy to mingle with strangers but when my eldest started school, I worked up the courage to befriend her classmate’s parents or guardians so that my child wouldn’t miss out on activities and play dates. I was a proud Momma, I made sure to be present at all of my kid’s activities as best as I could. I am all for it!
My Parents did the best they could to show up at my School activities when I was a kid but most of the time they were unavailable because of work. I don’t resent it though. I know how much they sacrificed to give us a decent life. I will never be who I am without their unwavering support, love and guidance. Like any other simple family, we liked to go to places like the beach, the park, the mall, and resorts.
My husband and I make sure that our kids don’t miss out on their childhood so we invest in memories of us on our happy adventures. I am a deeply emotional person, I am passionate, sensitive and have a strong desire for a deep connection with everything in my life.
If you’ve ever laughed until you cried, or felt deeply connected to a song, or found yourself overwhelmed by how wonderfully God made everything – welcome. You’re not alone, and I bet there are lots of us out here.
I live a simple life but “simple” does not mean “boring”, I take pleasure in preparing Filipino dishes for my family, and I like to stir it up by making Korean and Japanese dishes that are simple yet easy to make.
When life is not too busy at school or work we would go into spontaneous hang out at the park and the only thing that we spend is our “time”.
I was introduced to this platform by @antonette and I have to say I am excited to be a part of this experience where I get to share with you all my experiences, thoughts and opinions. This blog serves as an open journal of my life’s events and hopefully be able to connect with others who finds my journey relatable in some ways. This is a great opportunity for me to be around my fellow bloggers who radiate positivity through their experiences. We all have something to learn from one another.
